“I’m pretty sure they’re going to feed us,” I say, as I pull up in front of the hotel.

“Yeah, but there’s nothing like pizza at this place.”

“If you say so.” I park the truck and two men come rushing toward the door.

“Mr. and Mrs. Whitlock, welcome to the Magnifique. I’m Hugh, and I will be your butler during your stay. We’ll go ahead and valet the truck for you and get your bags up to your room.”

Charlotte and I both, at the same time, talk over each other. “What?”

“Fucking, Faye!”

Hugh blinks and then looks down at his paper. “I’m so sorry, your travel agent called about an hour ago to upgrade your room to the honeymoon suite.”

Charlotte barks a laugh. “She did, did she?”

Poor Hugh looks like he’s ready to crawl into a hole. “Yes, we have everything set up for you both. Your agent was very specific it had to be our best room. I could always downgrade you to a regular room, but . . .”

Oh, I want to laugh because it’s comical, but the way that Charlotte’s face is contorted, I keep it in. She looks like she’s ready to blow. “Thank you, but we’ll keep the honeymoon suite. I assume our agent who made the change put her credit card on file?”

He nods. “Yes, sir.”

“Thank you, my wife and I will be ordering room service when we get to our room.”

Charlotte makes a noise and then her face softens. “Yes, yes we will.”

“Come on, sweetheart, let’s go.” Hugh rushes around us, opening the door. I place my hand on her back and we enter the hotel.

Okay, this place is impressive. The entire lobby looks like an old library. There are books lining the entire space, the floor isblack and white checkered marble with sofas that look like they’re from the 1930s. It’s old, vintage, and really freaking nice.

Hugh hands the two of us a glass of champagne and barks orders at two guys standing to the side. They rush and take the bags that are sitting on the floor beside us and he takes us up to the penthouse.

“I think you’ll both be very comfortable in the suite, and you need only text the number and either myself or Chase, the other butler, will answer,” Hugh explains as we near the top floor.

“Thank you.”

He smiles warmly and then escorts us to the room. “Here is your key, there is only one suite on this level. The other room to the left is the butler’s quarters. We do also service the floor below, but are primarily reserved for your needs. Your bags should be in the room already. Please don’t hesitate to ask for anything you need.”

I don’t think we’re going to need anything, but Charlotte loops her hand around my arm, leaning against me. “I’m sure Rowan and I will be fine, thank you, Hugh.”

“Of course, Miss.”

Hugh goes back in the elevator, leaving us standing in the hallway. Charlotte looks at me. “I’m going to kill her.”

“It would be warranted.”

“Well, let’s go see the room.”

I unlock the door and we enter.

The two of us freeze at the entryway.

This place makes the lobby look like a dump. I’ve never, in my life, seen anything like this. “What the fuck?” I say more to myself than anything.

“This is incredible,” Charlotte whispers.

This is not a room, it’s a freaking palace. We step farther in, where there’s a sunken living room with the biggest freaking television I’ve ever seen. Everything is shiny and white, the floors, the walls, the furniture, it’s all glowing.

Charlotte walks deeper, her fingertips grazing the sofa table, and she turns to me with a huge smile and big eyes. “This is ours?”
