Connor lets out a low laugh. “I’m not counting anything out. Although, if it really happened, we might all kill each other.”

“It’s possible.”

“Declan is already annoying the fuck out of me and constantly asking about the start-up and if I’m reinvesting into the business correctly.”

I can’t say I’m not enjoying that he’s irritating him. “Good.”

He flips me off. “Silent partners who don’t know how to be silent. Both of you.”

“Hey, I didn’t say a word.” I raise my hands.

“No, but you sent an email.”

Yes, and it was so fun since it was a coordinated effort after Declan talked to him. Sometimes, the only entertainment we have is to pick on the weakest link. Jacob isn’t here, therefore, it’s Connor.

“I was merely asking about the status of my investment.”

“The hell you were. You sent me an email outlining the things I need to think about, including giving you and Declan a larger role in a company that you said you would besilentin!”

I shrug. “It’s business, not brotherhood.”

Connor looks away, muttering under his breath. “Ellie said that you and Devney are together now, how’s that going?”

“None of your business.”

He raises one brow. “Really? Like you give a shit about boundaries in my life?”

“Touché.”

“Devney and I are together, we’re figuring things out, and I’m happy.”

“I’m happy for you. Truly. Devney is a good person who has always been there for us. Don’t fuck it up.”

“Because you’re the authority on women?”

Connor laughs. “I’m happily married with two kids. I’d say I’m winning on the woman front.”

“Maybe so, but this weekend, I have big plans for us . . .”

“And what might that be?”

My grin is wide as I pulled a few strings to make this possible. “You’ll find out later, but let’s just say that your crown is about to be knocked off your head.”

“Where are we going?” Devney asks as I hold her hand in the car. We’re driving to the Allentown airport. Only, I’m not telling her that.

“Don’t worry about it.”

“You’re being vague.”

“I’m being romantic.”

She laughs. “Oh, well, you’re doing great then.”

“Sarcasm is not welcome in this car.”

Devney leans over and kisses my cheek. “I apologize, oh romantic one, I’ve never been on this side of your charms and was unsure of what it was.”
