“I need you,” I whispered, so quietly the sound might not have existed. But Ryan heard. His other hand found my jaw and he tipped my face up, bringing his lips to mine tentatively and I bit his bottom lip. I didn’t need tenderness. Not now. Not tonight.

He understood. His kiss became bruising, heat and savagery as his tongue found mine, stroking and licking moans from my mouth. I pulled away, breathless, and let my hands stroke down his chest as I sank to the floor.

Ryan cursed but it sounded like a prayer as his fingers wound into my hair and I couldn’t help but wonder how they might feel in other places. I tugged at the button on his jeans, relieved he wasn’t wearing a belt. I didn’t have the patience for them on the best of days, but tonight more than ever.

This was crossing a line between us but I couldn’t bring myself to care. I needed this and I thought Ryan might have needed it too. He was already hard and sprang free, bobbing in front of my face as I slid his zipper down.

“Are you sure this is a good idea?” Ryan said quietly, he turned his head both ways, checking to see if anybody was around and I wrapped my hand around him, pumping slowly until his eyes instead found the sky as his head fell back. He gave a small groan and I tightened my grip as I leaned in for an experimental lick of his head. He tasted sweet and smoky and I pressed kisses to the long length of him. Ryan swallowed, the strong line of this throat looking erotic in the dark, and his eyes found mine as my tongue wet his tip.

A sharp pant left him and a wicked grin curved my mouth. My toes were cold and my legs ached as I squatted in front of him but it was the heat between my legs that was the most distracting thing as I wrapped my mouth around him and swirled my tongue over his slit. His hand tightened in my hair and a thrill swept through me as my pussy clenched involuntarily. I looked up at him as I took him further into my mouth, sliding up and over him, licking my way up his shaft and torturing him with sloppy kisses to the underside of his tip.

“Jamie,” he panted and I let out aMmmaround him as I increased my pace. He was right, there would be time for teasing later. For now, I wanted him spilling on my tongue, down my throat.

Ry’s hips flexed as he pumped into my mouth with a groan, he tugged on my hair and gasped when I moaned around his cock. I worked him faster, hollowing out my cheeks as I took him in deep, gagging a little as he hit the back of my throat. Footsteps sounded, echoing in the distance and Ryan tensed until I flicked my tongue over his head twice and he came with a hoarse shout that sent satisfaction thrumming through me.

I pulled off of him with a wet sound that had a blush rising to my cheeks. Ryan swayed slightly as his blood returned to his head and away from his dick, his eyes fluttered open and were warm and dazed when they met mine.

The footsteps sounded closer and Ryan glanced to the left before zipping himself back up and grabbing my hand. We started walking again and he snuck glances at me until we got to the door that led to the stairwell for my building. The motion-sensor light outside flicked on and I winced at the bright glare.

“Do you want to talk about it?” Ryan said, letting go of my hand and leaning against the brick wall beside the doorway. Everything about him looked relaxed, sated, except for the tightness around his mouth and I wondered what he was thinking that had him anxiously awaiting my response.

I knew what he meant. He wanted to talk about us but I honestly didn’t know what to tell him. Yes, I wanted him. And yes, in that moment I’d needed him. But I’d just got out of a relationship and immediately getting into another just didn’t feel like the right thing to do. So instead, I gave him the answer to his earlier question.

“There’s not much to say. Aaron came toThe Box. He hit on Olivia when I went to the restroom. I dumped a pitcher of beer on his head, cussed him out, then left before Billy could ban me from the bar.”

Surprise and then amusement flared in Ry’s eyes and he let out a short laugh, “You poured your drink on him?”

“It wasn’t my drink, it was Kat’s. But yeah, right over his head.”

He gave me his trademark crooked smile, “Remind me to never piss you off.”

I smiled in response and the silence ticked on for a second too long, we shifted awkwardly on our feet and I was about to head inside when he spoke again.

“Come over tomorrow,” Ryan said it quickly, like he wanted to get the words out before he could change his mind.

“What for?” I said warily, I didn’t want to hurt his feelings but I didn’t feel like a date was in the cards right now. Possibly something more casual but… Ry didn’t strike me as a casual kind of guy. He wasn’t as uptight and straight-laced as Aaron (well, as Aaron appeared on the surface anyway) but he wasn’t exactly a player either.

“Revenge,” Ryan said in a tone that said he knew I wouldn’t be able to resist. “I’m not sure a pitcher of beer really covers it, do you?”

“Well, I did also proposition one of his friends.”

Ryan frowned. “Which one?” he growled and I raised an eyebrow, not deeming that to be worth answering. Like I’d have known any of their names anyway. Ry shook his head, smiling at me, “Never mind. Just, come over tomorrow afternoon.”

The truth was, he’d piqued my interest… and he knew it. “Okay.”

“Okay,” Ryan said with a smug grin. I rolled my eyes as I walked past him and opened the door to the stairs.

“God, what is this, a John Green movie?” I muttered and Ryan laughed as the door started to close.

“It was a book first!” he called after me and I waved a hand at him as I made my way up the stairs to the first-floor apartments and my door, hiding the smile I knew he’d never let me live down.

DIRTY THOUGHTS - CHLOE ADAMS

The walk to Aaron’s– also Ryan’s – was hauntingly familiar and unease settled in my stomach as I walked, second guessing myself and what might be about to happen. There was every chance we were going to have sex and I couldn’t pretend that I wasn’t craving that – cravinghim– more than I cared to admit.

I almost walked straight past her without realizing and it wasn’t until Taylor wrapped her skinny fingers around my wrist that I drew up short and shrugged her off. She looked like she’d lost a little weight, her blonde hair framing her slim face a little more fully than before, and her eyes gleamed with a manic light that told me she was on something. I took a step away from her, disgusted that this was the low she’d sank to over a guy like Aaron.
