Kelsey nodded, kissed Nessa on the cheek, and grabbed her iPad and her half-apron with all her emergency supplies, then left the bedroom.

Thanks to her best friend, she was ready to face the day, handle the shit out of this wedding like the badass boss bitch she was, and, most importantly, Kelsey was prepared to resist Alexander’s games.

And his charm.

And his magical fingers.

As long as she didn’t get close enough to Alex to breathe him in, feel his warmth, or let him touch her with his evil, brain-breaking hands, she’d befine.

She could do this.

She. Was. A. Professional.

“Kelsey? Est-ce vous?”

She. Was. A.Screwed. Professional.

She stopped at the doorway of the kitchen. She’d been so caught up in everything that had transpired with Alexander in the past twenty-four hours that she’d forgotten about Jean-Luc and his very troublesome arrival on the island. She turned slowly toward the sound of his voice, and as she laid eyes on the sexy chef, last weekend’s encounters flooded her mind, vivid imagery of the two of them together, and…

Kelsey felt nothing.

Shit. This could only mean one thing, and it wasn’t something she wanted to consider. Ever.

Double shit.

She freakin’likedAlexander.

“Oui, c’est toi.” He flashed her that panty-dropping smile of his and her lady bits didnothingin response. “Alors bientôt nous nous retrouvons. Quelle agréable surprise.”

She smiled as politely as she could, then forced herself to step into the kitchen and say hello. He was the pastry chef. She was the event planner. Nothing more. They werebothprofessionals and could behave as such. What happened between them at the wedding in La Quinta was in the past.

And apparently, so was her attraction to the Frenchman.

Alexander had ruined even that, the jerkface.

“Jean-Luc, hi, how are you?” She extended her hand to give him aprofessionalhandshake. Because that’s whatprofessionalassociates do.

He tilted his head, slid his hand into hers, then yanked her forward. He quickly spun her around so her back was against his chest, then pressed his nose into her neck.

Kelsey gasped, then froze, swallowing hard. What if Alexander found them like this? Her brain spun with ideas.Do I punch Jean-Luc? No. Too aggressive. Politely push away?

His grip tightened around her waist.

She’d be hard-pressed to get away.

Speaking ofhard-pressed, his hard body pressed against the length of hers should be doing delicious things to her insides and all she could think of was Alexander. If he found them like this…

Her stomach sank at the thought. How would she explain?

Jean-Luc trailed his nose up to her ear, then whispered, “Vous m'offrez une poignée de main?Je t'ai goûté la semaine dernière et maintenant tu m'offres une poignée de main?”

Nessa stood in the doorway, eyes so wide her eyebrows were hanging out in her hairline. “Kels?”

Kelsey swallowed, closing her eyes on a long blink, then finally opened them and met Nessa’s curious gaze. She used the distraction to push free of Jean-Luc’s arms. “I forgot to tell you one, small, minusculelittle detail.”

Jean-Luc chuckled softly, then stepped in front of her. “Minuscule?” He snorted, motioning toward his groin as he shook his head, looking at Kelsey like she’d lost her damn mind.

Maybe she had.
