“Kinda tired, babe.”

Rejection flashes in her eyes, and her smile falls as she dips her head. She looks two seconds away from crying, and I want to simultaneously smack the shit out of Tom and hug Marissa.

“I’ll jump in the hot tub with you,” I say softly.

She looks like she’s going to decline when Ty cuts in.

“Hot tub? Fuck yes, I’m in.”

My mother pulls the vodka bottle away from her mouth as she slurs.

“Oooo, me too!”

She pulls her shirt over her head, dropping it to the floor, revealing her pink lace bra to the room. My eyes pop open in shock as Brady looks around uncomfortably.

“Yeah, I’m gonna head to bed,” he mutters, running for his life.

Trust me, Brady, if I could run away from her, I would too.

“I’m in,” Logan says, his eyes coming to me despite my mother smiling up at him sloppily.

“Yay! Think I should takez off a fews a layersss,” she continues slurring.

“I think you need to go get changed,” he says. “Now.”

His tone isn’t harsh, but it’s not warm either. It’s just authoritative, and she listens, stumbling up the stairs to her bedroom.

“Come on, Tom. Now you have to join!” Ty says, clearly trying to sway him for Aunt Marissa’s benefit.

He nods, finishing his beer before setting the bottle down.

“Sure. It’ll be relaxing,” he says.

Marissa gives him a smile, but the instant she turns away, Isee the disappointment on her face. Why would it have been so hard for him to say yes to just the two of them? He had to be peer pressured into it.

“I’m gonna go help Kelly so she doesn’t wear a shower curtain as a swimsuit.”

We all chuckle at that as she heads up the stairs, the rest of us following to get changed into our own suits.

Ty and I walk into my room together, pausing when we look at each other. When we left for Leavenworth, we were obviously sharing this room. Now, things have changed.

“I’ll take the couch tonight,” he says like he can read my mind as he grabs his bag and moves to the bathroom.

“You don’t have to do that. We’re adults, we can share a bed, Ty.”

He lifts his eyebrows in disbelief.

“It’s like you’ve never even met my brother before, Ari. Trust me, he will insist upon it.”

With that, he shuts the door. I pause only for a moment before rifling through my things to find a swimsuit. I brought a few, but I haven’t worn this one yet. Mainly because it’s my skimpiest one. It’s black, my tits spill out the top, and the bottoms are considered cheeky, but let’s be honest, it’s a thong. It’s a bold move wearing it in front of Logan, especially with everyone else around. There is something exciting to that idea, though, and I’m slipping it on before I can talk myself out of it.

I know I brought a swim wrap, I just need to find it. Bending down to my suitcase, I continue digging through it when the bathroom door opens. My head whips around to see Ty staring at me with wide eyes. I quickly stand up, grab a sundress, and call it good, sliding it over myself before looking at Ty.

“Fuck, Ari. Are you trying to kill me? I’m trying to be agood guy but…goddamn, you’re not something that’s easy to let go.”

“Sorry. I didn’t mean to?—”

“Of course you didn’t. Unfortunately, now I’ll be a while,” he says as he adjusts himself in his swim trunks before heading back into the bathroom. The door shuts, and my jaw drops.
