“I had a John Travolta phase as a kid, yeah, but I haven’t sung that song in years.”

“Oh my god, this is perfect! Okay, we’re gonna do the whole scene, dance and all!” I laugh, clapping my hands excitedly.

He looks out at the room and shakes his head. I think he’s about to tell me I’m nuts or something, but instead, he drags me in for a kiss, holding me until the crowd starts to holler. When he pulls away, he gives me a panty melting look.

“Fuck it, let’s do this.”

I smile excitedly as the beginning music starts. I grab my microphone as Ty does the same before I frantically look around. The DJ has an unlit cigarette behind his ear, and I snatch it quickly.

“Hey! What the fuck!”

“Sorry!” I snicker as I face Ty, holding it between my fingers as I channel Olivia Newton-John.

“Tell me about it, stud.”

Ty pauses for a moment, and I think he’s going to back out. Then, it’s as if I’m watching a rendition of the movie. His performance completely comes alive. He drops to the floor on the word ‘electrifying,’ and I toss the cigarette on the floor, stepping on it before pushing my shoe onto his chest.

From there, we put on a musical show, and the crowd is eating it up. Everyone is dancing and singing along. Well, everyone except one. Logan is standing with his arms crossed at the bar. Uncle Tom and my mom are dancing, and Logan is just…standing there, staring. It unnerved me at first, but I’m having too much fun to care. So, I play into it.

Pointing at him, Ty and I belt the words.

“You’re the one that I want!”

The crowd echoes us before we all sing.

“Oooh oooh oooooh!”

“The one I need! Oh yes, indeed!” I sing into the microphone, my finger still pointing towards Logan.

Once the song is over, the pub erupts into cheers, and Ty picks me up, spinning me around the stage before kissing me. He holds my face tenderly, and I smile into him before we break apart. When we do, my eyes skim over the crowd, pausing on Logan’s glare. It feels more aimed at Ty than me, and when I look up to Ty, I see him staring back at Logan.

The DJ ushers us off the stage and we walk back to our place at the bar, receiving nonstop arm pats and praise fromothers. Ty wraps his arm around my waist, pressing me into his side as Logan moves to stand beside me.

“Did you have fun?”

“I did.” I smile. “I’ve never done anything like that before.”

“You were a natural, you lit up the entire room,” he says, his words of praise making that fluttering feeling fire up once more.

“What about me?” Ty intervenes. “I lit up the room too, right, bro?”

Logan cuts an irritated look to Ty but doesn’t get a chance to speak when my mother comes barreling into me, literally. She almost falls to the ground as we collectively try to hold her up.

“That’s waz amazing! Yourz my daughter. Shez my daughtersss!” she shouts.

“Alright, I think it’s time you went to bed,” Logan says.

“No!” she says with a wrinkled up frown. “I wants to stay and have more drinks! Bartenderrrr!” she shouts before falling apart into a fit of giggles.

The bartender looks at her, not impressed at all.

“She’s gotta go.”

Logan nods when Uncle Tom steps in, bending down before tossing my mom over his shoulder.

“I got her. Marissa has been texting me anyways. See you guys in the morning.”

“Put me downz you buffalo! I’ll beat your asses if you don’t,” she shouts at Uncle Tom as they slip through the doorway and head towards the hotel.
