“You want us to help dad?” Lance asked him.
“No, y’all can finish playing the game. I need to talk to Faryn,” Landon replied, right before he walked away.
Faryn grabbed her daughter from her swing and followed her husband upstairs. She and Landon never really argued, but there was a first time for everything. He was heated and Faryn knew that just by looking at him.
“Baby-” Faryn started before he cut her off.
“Tell me what happened and don’t leave nothing out,” he ordered.
“Okay,” Faryn said as she ran the entire story down to him, leaving nothing out.
“Didn’t I tell you when we first got together that we don’t do secrets?” Landon questioned.
“Yes, but-” Faryn started.
“It ain’t no buts, Faryn. You can’t pick and choose what you want to tell me. That’s not how this works. A lot of marriages fall apart for that same stupid shit,” Landon argued.
“You’re right and I’m sorry. I promise that it won’t happen again,” Faryn swore as she leaned over and kissed him.
“I like your hair,” he complimented.
“Thanks. I was wondering when you were gonna say something.” Faryn smiled.
“I was pissed, and I wasn’t thinking about that at first,” Landon admitted.
“I’ll make it up to you later. I won’t even get mad if you run your hands through it,” Faryn smirked.
“Will you be on your knees while I’m running my hands through it?” Landon asked hopefully.
“Whatever you want baby.” Faryn winked as she grabbed what the twins needed to take their baths.
“Hell yeah. Your fat ass better go to sleep early tonight,” Landon said to his son, as the baby smiled in return.
Faryn laughed at his silliness, but she was happy that they could resolve their minor disagreement. Landon was always cool and calm, and Faryn wanted him to stay that way. It wasn’t that she was trying to keep anything from him. She just didn’t like to upset him. Even still, Landon was right. She couldn’t pick and choose what she wanted to tell him. She had to share everything with her husband, no matter how it made him feel. Landon was a man in every sense of the word, so she knew that he would fix whatever the problem was.
