“Trust me, you won’t be disappointed,” Clarence said.

Upon his urging, Landon decided to take Akira up on her offer. He was happy that he did because Clarence was right. Akira’s food was the shit and he was not disappointed. He ended up handling some business with Clarence regarding his new business venture. Landon had to wire money to make the purchases and that was done in a matter of minutes. Clarence offered to help him find a part-time employee whenever he was ready, but that wouldn’t be for a few weeks. He had a lot of other legal things to do before he even thought about opening the businesses. Clarence rushed him because he didn’t want him to miss out on the opportunity, but he didn’t mind.

“I’m happy we got that out of the way. Now, I can relax since the hard part is over,” Clarence said.

Landon was about to reply until his phone started ringing. He recognized the number as Lance’s school and he blew out a breath of frustration. School was almost over and he didn’t have time for the foolishness with Lance.

“Hello,” Landon answered.

“Mr. Reynolds, it’s Mrs. Jennings. I know it’s been a while, but I need to see you in my office,” the principal of the school replied.

“What did he do this time?” Landon asked.

“He got into another fight, but he’s not suspended. I’m letting him off with a warning, but I told him that we don’t want the old Lance back. He’s been doing so well, and I don’t know what set him off this time. He’s still upset, so I just need you to pick him up and talk to him.”

“Okay Ms. Jennings, I’m on my way,” Landon assured her.

“What happened?” Clarence asked.

“Lance got into another fight at school. I’m done talking. I’m whipping his ass on sight,” Landon fumed.

“Whipping him is not the answer Landon,” Clarence said.

“Yeah, well, obviously talking ain’t the answer either. He got a bad ass temper and I’m about to get that shit in check.”

“I wonder where he got it from,” Clarence replied sarcastically.

“Man-” Landon started before being cut off.

“Man, my ass. How many times did Ella and I have to come to the school for your ass for the exact same thing? We never laid a finger on you and you eventually got it right. Imagine how you felt when Robin dropped you and Makena off to Ella. Lance has you, but he’s probably feeling the same way. Just be patient with him Landon,” Clarence advised.

Landon nodded his head in understanding, as Clarence walked him out of the house. He was trying to understand what his son was going through, being that he had gone through something similar. Lance had it better than him because he had a father, something that Landon didn’t have. Talking to Faryn had done him good for a while, but he seemed to have reverted to his old ways. He said he wanted to talk to Faryn later, so hopefully that would help. Landon picked up his phone to call and tell her what was going on. Hopefully, she could get Lance back on track. If not, Landon was ready to take off his belt and get him in line the old-fashioned way.
