“Well, honeybee, that’s great, but I don’t think it tops our news,” he said back with a sexy smile.

“You say that, but our engagement isn’t our only news.”

“What other news do we have?” he asked me curiously.

Was he figuring it out before I even had the chance to say the words out loud?

“The mare isn’t the only one pregnant,” I said quickly.

I was eager to tell him before he could fit the clues together. I had been a little moody lately and feeling a little sick.

His eyebrows shot up to meet his hairline.

“I’m going to be a dad?” he asked. “You are pregnant?”

I nodded my head with the biggest smile across my face.

“Yes, you are going to be a dad.”

He shot straight up in bed and wrapped his arms around me. I was still straddling him so it was a comfortable hugging position. His arms were so tight that I might have bruising later. When he pulled back, he had tears in his eyes.

“I’m going to be a dad,” he repeated.

He kissed me again, and then we made love. Golden Reys Farm would have little foals and a little baby.

For the first time since the passing of my parents, my heart felt absolutely full. I knew we would be just as good to our kids as they were to me. I could feel their love in the trailer still, and I couldn’t wait to meet the newest member of the Reys family.
