There are not many things in this world that surprise me anymore. But when Beckett handed me her ID, I was floored. The last thing I expected was for Kingston’s son to be a daughter.
“The paper I saw her name in reported her as a man,” I tell them as though I need to explain. “It said Kingston has two sons who work with him in the family business, Jordyn and Jacob Kingston.”
Beckett smirks and tips his head as he looks Jordyn up and down. Something tingles at the back of my neck. “Quit looking at her like she’s a piece of ass.”
Knowing my baby brother, he’s thinkingexactlythat. And I don’t like it.
Beckett shrugs. “You can’t deny she’s a total bombshell. If she weren’t the enemy, I’d be trying to get some of that.”
A low growl works its way up from my chest. If I didn’t have my arms wrapped around Jordyn’s waist, holding her against me, I’d be beating his fucking face into the ground.
Then his words sink in.
She’s the enemy.
Woman or man, she’s Kingston’s kid. And Kingston killed our father. Which means I’m going to get answers, one way or another.
“Open the door,” I demand, sliding an arm under her thick thighs and scooping her up bridal style.
“Jesus,” Xander mutters. “Are we fucking doing this? Kidnapping and torturing a woman?”
“I’m not going to torture her. At least, not in the same way. Let’s go.”
Kian walks us through the apartment and holds the door for me. He does the same with the one that leads to the staircase we used to get up here. Her building has terrible security. It’s a miracle she hasn’t been kidnapped before now.
We take flight after flight down to the bottom, and by the time we reach my SUV, I’m only slightly winded. It’s been a long time since I’ve carried a woman, and I hate to admit that it’s pretty damn nice holding something so soft and beautiful.
Enemy.
She’s the enemy.
Why is that so hard to remember?
Biting the inside of my cheek, I set her in the back seat and slide in, wrapping my arm around her so she’s resting against me instead of slumping forward.
Xander gets in on the other side, his hard features set in stone. He doesn’t have to say a word for me to know he doesn’t approve of any of this. Hell, I don’t approve of it either. Our dad taught us to treat women with respect and protect them at all costs. Right now, I’m doing the exact opposite.
“Go to my house,” I instruct Kian when he starts the car.
Three sets of eyes turn to look at me as tense silence fills the space.
“Quit looking at me like that. Go to my fucking house,” I snap.
Kian glances at Beckett, who shrugs, then shifts into drive and takes off down the street.
This isn’t the ideal situation, but none of it is. I was caught off guard, and she wouldn’t stop fighting me. The brat is feisty as fuck and fierce as hell. Drugging her was the only way I was going to get her to stop. She might be a woman, and I won’t hurt her, but she’s still going to give me the answers I need because I’m not letting her go until she does.
“Beckett, call in a dozen of our security to stand post at my house while she’s there. I won’t be able to have my eyes on her all the time.”
It’s a damn shame about that because I could stare at Jordyn Kingston all damn day and not get tired of it. As much as I hate to admit it, Beckett is right. She’s a damn bombshell. Curves for days that could put a man on his knees. When she walked into her apartment, and I didn’t know who she was, I assumed she was Jordyn Kingston’s girlfriend. It made me even more eager to kill him so I could fuck her without the guilt of her being another man’s girl. Because fucking her was all I could think about until I read her name on her ID. Then everything went to hell, and here I am with a gorgeous, drugged woman slumped next to me. Her sweet perfume makes my dick twitch. Something sexy with a hint of cherries. Whatever she’s wearing is intoxicating, and I might be getting the perfect buzz from it.
“For how long?” Beckett turns to look at me, a smug smile pulling at his lips.
I shoot him a glare and scoff. “Just get them there and mind your own fucking business, asshole.”
His laughter fills the car, but he starts typing on his phone, so at least he’s doing what I said. God, sometimes he’s a real pain. And this hard-on he has for Jordyn is pissing me off.
It doesn’t matter that I can’t stop imagining myself wrapping my fist in her long, thick, dark hair. Or that I want to slide my dick between her big tits and watch them bounce as I fuck her chest like some horny teenager. Or that I want to spread her round ass cheeks and push my dick into her most intimate hole. None of that is going to happen.
