Page 36 of Devious Delusions

“I’ve loved you since the first moment I saw you in the playground. You didn’t even notice me at first because you were too busy making sure your dress didn’t get dirty from the slide,” he says with each syllable getting softer. “Right at that moment, I knew you were going to change my life”—a small laugh brushes the top of my head—“but I could never guess that you would become it. So just stay with me a little longer, baby.”

Reds and pinks fill the kitchen as the sun begins to set. I don’t let go of him and he continues swaying from side to side. My throat burns and I screw my eyes shut as I try to give him something more than this moment.

“I remember the first time I saw you. We went to your house to visit your parents and my mom told me that there were kids my age there. I was so excited to play that I grabbed your hand and said you have to show me your toys.”

The memory is bittersweet, and we slow our swaying at the part I’m leaving out. I thought he was Kane who I had already met, and he snatched the toys out of my hand when I got his name wrong. It probably didn’t help matters when I dragged him to a mirror to prove that there was only one of him because I’d never seen twins before.

He strokes up my back and grips my nape. The hold isn’t painful or rough, but there’s a coldness to it as he pulls me away from his chest. His voice is still low and there’s a threat in hiseyes as he examines my eyes and asks, “Who are the tears for, baby?”

There’s nothing I can give him other than honesty. “You,” I say. “They’re for you because I’ve ruined your life.”

Asher cups my cheek and smiles down at me with the sky darkening behind him. It adds extra shadows to his face, and he leans down to speak against my lips. “And how did you ruin my life, Delilah?”

There’s humor in his voice. I answer dumbly, “By being crazy?”

The smile splits into a deep laugh and he shakes his head as it clings to his voice. “You’re not crazy. You are exactly who you’re supposed to be, the woman I love, and my wife is nothing short of perfect. Come on, you need to eat.”

GHOST

She’s dancing with her fucking husband like my cum wasn’t covering her deceitful cunt in the middle of the night. My dick hardens at the memory at the exact same moment that she leans up on her toes and kisses him.

They kiss like teenagers and continue dancing.

Both of them swaying side to side.

While she smiles against his lips.

Openly, without any shadows.

More importantly, without any guilt of her countless infidelities.

DELILAH

What was meant to be an innocent kiss soon becomes more. Asher grabs my ass with both hands and grinds into me. His teeth come out as he nips my bottom lip and clumsily walks me backwards. My back hits the counter edge and he grinds into me as I thread my fingers together at his nape.

He grabs the back of my thighs as he kisses across my jaw and quickly pulls me up to sit on the counter. Each movement is faster than the last and my mind can’t keep track when he groans into my neck.

“Fuck, baby, I haven’t tasted you in so long. I’m going to die if I wait any longer.”

His fingers dig into my knees, and he drops down, pushing them even further apart so that I’m nearly doing the splits. There’s no more build up as he bites the lace between my thighs and roughly drags it down, making me slide against the counter.

My hand whips out and I grab his hair for stability. The feeling of his tongue doesn’t help me. It makes me grind into him, uncaring if I fall.

“Fuck, Asher,” I moan. “More.”

He bites into my inner thigh, hard enough that his teeth marks will be dented into my skin, and my head falls back, hitting the cabinet door. A loud blaring ringtone stops him and he looks up in the direction of his office.

I don’t even get a second look as he stands mechanically and walks out of the room. His jaw is tense, eyes wild, and his back flexes with each step, but his dick is still hard through his sweats.

What in the fuck?

I may have my own issues, but so does he. The personality switch is strange, and I slide off the counter, pulling my panties on as I drop to my feet. The door isn’t closed, and I look down the hallway as the ringtone comes to an end. His low, stilted voice replaces it.

“Yes, officer.”
