Lynn grins.“Smart man.You know, he’s already pulled me into one dream he’s secretly working on for the two of you before he jabbed a tiny pin in his conscious life.”

This is the first time I’m hearing her mention something about Pax pulling her into something he has set.All while Lynn, and all the others, have been visiting in and out of this hospital room every day since Pax got here.

I frown.“What?”

“Oh, look who decided to join in on the fun shit in life.”Lynn points at the hospital bed beside me.

My head whips to Pax and I find his stare locked on me.Parting my lips, I search inside my head for words, but nothing comes up.

“Lyla,” he croaks.

A sob rips from me, and I let my body crash with his.Pax grunts but the hand covering the back of my head to keep me to him feels fucking good.

“Crushing me here,” he whispers.“Fuckin’ love it.”

Yet again I can’t manage to find words to give him.Sheer happiness flows through me.He’s awake. He recognized me.He’s talking. All of this means he’s okay.Such a huge difference from when my brother was shot in the head.

I know I’ve kept hope and stayed strong, believing Pax was going to come out of this alive and well.Though, it’s hitting me how underneath it all I was scared.Scared of a life without Pax.

Pulling back, I cup his face with both hands and fiercely tell him, “I love you so damn much.”

The smile he gives me is touching my heart, lighting it up with millions of sparks.“I love you just as much, if not more.”

“I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride,” Lynn states.

I glance over my shoulder and raise my eyebrow.

Lynn shrugs.“Don’t look at me like that. You two shared a moment, he already got you a stunning ring, too fucking gorgeous as an engagement ring I might add. Then there’s the fact I’m ordained and able to make it official...do you want the ring or not?”

“Yes.”Pax shifts and grunts, face slightly edged with pain.

His head wasn’t the only part of his body injured by the wall and ceiling falling down.Pax has multiple bruises and some lacerations.Macsen has a sprained ankle and a large laceration on his arm. Both are very lucky to be alive.

Pax reaches out and brushes his knuckles against my cheek.“Let me put the ring we carefully picked out on her finger.”

“You picked,” Lynn mutters and steps closer to the bed to hand Pax a velvet box.“I only went to the store and showed you some snapshots I took while I was there.”

We all fall silent when Pax opens the box.He takes out the stunning piece of jewelry and grabs my hand to slide the ring on my finger. My gaze becomes blurry, and I quickly wipe away the happy tears with my other hand.

The ring is stunning, but the exquisite chance Pax is giving me to become his wife is another dream come true.A milestone in a life together. One happy moment after another and I’m actually loving the fact Lynn married us in a whirlwind of surprise right after Pax woke up.

“I love you,” I tell Pax again.

“More with each breath I take,” he replies.

I’m about to lean in for a kiss and our lips barely touch when Lynn says, “Aw, great picture of you kissing the bride.Hey, did I mention I’m an awesome photographer?I can also do births. You know, with the kid already being graced with my name I could be there if you need me.”

Pax brushes his mouth against mine and keeps his eyes on me when he says, “We’ll let you know.”

The door swings open and people start to fill the room.Archer, Bee, my parents, more Broken Deeds bikers, and some of Wisely Dicey as well.

“I might have thrown a message in a few group chats to let them know your dude here finally opened his eyes,” Lynn says with a satisfied look on her face.

Every person in the room is relieved and is smiling.

I lean in and whisper, “Tonight, our wedding night, you’re mine.”

He groans and mutters, “We should have waited.”
