“Danny, why don’t you tell them about what you do for a living? I think that’s a good starting point.” I nudge his leg with mine to encourage him a bit.
As soon as he gets going, the rest of his defenses drop. The room warms the more animated he gets. I can tell from the looks on my parents’ face’s they’re already smitten with him. It could also be because my own smile shows how happy I am with these two.
No matter the cause, it’s obvious how well we three fit together. My mother makes sure to tell me such when she decides to help me make some tea in the kitchen.
“I’ll admit I was worried at first. You quickly put it to rest though. One look at them both, and I knew you were hooked. I’m so happy you’ve found your loves.” She tugs at my shirt, her signal she wants me to lean over so she can kiss my cheek.
“Thanks, Mom. It’s good to know I won’t have to make a PowerPoint to prove why we’re all meant to be together. I already had a few dozen slides in mind.”
She snorts at the joke before hip bumping me out of the way so she can make everything. As I lean against the counter watching her, I can’t help but to appreciate how lucky I am. Between my amazing boys and two sets of supportive parents, I couldn’t be happier.
Maybe one day we’ll meet Danny’s parents too. Well, maybe isn’t really the right thing to say. I fully intend to meet his folks, if for no other reason than to assure them I’m going to take good care of Danny for the rest of my days.
Hopefully they like me and Monty enough for their son. If not, the PowerPoint idea might actually come in handy after all.
CHAPTER 31
DANNY
“I’ll be back with all the candy in a little bit, Princess. The store is busy today. I’m doing my best. If it starts without me, then it’s fine. Don’t wait for me.” Daddy’s voice echoes in the kitchen as I pace the length of the island. I’ve got him on speaker, because even something as simple as holding a phone feels too much right now.
Shaking my hands out, I try to let the nerves wash away. “Ok, Daddy. I’m just really nervous. This is a big project. What if I accidentally messed it all up? I could have ruined people’s lives.”
“You didn’t ruin anything. Micah has told us as much. Today is meant to be a celebration. Enjoy it. Don’t let the‘what ifs’get you down.”
At his reminder, a tiny bit of relief shoots through me. It’s not enough to calm me completely. Just to get me to stop pacing.
“Ok, Daddy. I’ll go check on Monty now. Make sure he isn’t getting into trouble or anything.”
He laughs. “It’s anyone’s guess what he’s up to when left alone. Our brat is creative.”
I nod and reply, “Bye! See you soon!”
“See you soon, Princess.”
The line disconnects, then a silence fills the space. I want to immediately call him back to push away my worrisome thoughts. Except that would be depending on him too much. I need to work out this negative energy myself.
“Monty!” I call out as I leave the kitchen to go back into the movie room. It’s tucked further down the hall away from everywhere else. While we could have set things up in the living room, Monty suggested the more private space would be fun.
“It’ll create an entire experience,”he’d said.
He’s right, of course. I won’t tell him so until Daddy is here because I’m not going to listen to him gloat alone.
I take a deep breath before stepping into the dimly lit space. It’s not good for me to continue to be nervous over all this. Life happened. Change was needed. Thankfully, Micah stepped in to finish the planning for Sundae or else I’d feel even worse. Her parents deserve the very best.
The part that makes me the most nervous is how Sundae brought up the request to have a vow renewal as part of the party. Not only is it more work for Micah, but it’s also such a monumental occasion, I feel as if I’ve let everyone down by not being there.
“Daddy says the store is busy so he’s going to be an—oh!” When I turn to face the seating, I find a lot more than I bargained for.
Several inches more.
Monty doesn’t stop what he’s doing, nor does he look ashamed. He just strokes his cock as if this is completely normal. As if he isn’t a shirtless Adonis seated before those who want to worship him.
“You’re staring, Princess,” he drawls out, pleasure clear in his voice.
I could be blindfolded, and I’d still recognize the sound. I’ve become acquainted with it in the weeks since we’ve all been living together.
“What are you doing? We don’t have long before the streaming starts.”
