“Because you’re my mate.” Lars laid back and closed his eyes, and that faith in him was amazing.

Bryant just kissed Kaden’s forehead. “Your dad knows best, little one. He always has.”

Epilogue

“Lars! Lars, look at his scales! They’re so silver.” Bryant was playing with Kaden, who lay on his back on a blanket, batting at a little mobile that Bryant had set up.

Lars, who was on the couch reading a novel, grinned. “He’s so pretty.”

“He is.” Bryant beamed at him. “Just like you.”

“Mmm.” It had been a rough few weeks of not sleeping much and adjusting their schedules and dealing with daily visitors.

Lots of them.

Dakota and Logan. Jake and Samuel. Lachlan. Bea and Jason and their mates. Amber and Mari. All of them brought food and smiles and laughter, but it was a lot. So today, they were just hanging out, and Arthur was running interference for them.

It felt so good to just be a family.

“So how is Lachlan’s omega?” Lars asked. “Has he come out of his room yet?”

“Not yet, but Lachlan said he asked for soft wool and needles. Apparently he knits.”

“Yeah?” Okay, that was progress. It was hard to ask for things. “Excellent. I hope, one day, we meet him.”

“We will. I have faith.” Bryant grinned at him. “I bet Alban’s already made friends, delivering food and treats and stuff.”

“Yes.” Lars chuckled. “Our Keepers are determined sorts.”

“They really are.” Kaden fussed a little, so Bryant picked him up to bring him to Lars. “Time for a bottle, I bet.”

“You’ll get it?” He’d laid his novel aside, but he was feeling so lazy.

“I will. Just a minute, love.” Bryant kissed him, then Kaden. “Be right back.” And his mate strode off to the kitchen, the very picture of the confident alpha he’d first fallen for.

The baby had been so good for him. Heck, rescuing Lachlan’s houseguest and neutralizing that threat together had been good for Bryant, as if he’d come full circle.

Or maybe it was being fully accepted into the wing and finding a place there with them.

It made Lars’s heart glad to see it.

He loved Bryant with everything in him.

“And it’s a good thing love has an endless supply, little one. It’s not pie. I adore you so. Look at you. I see the ruby in you, even if no one else does.”

Those pretty eyes opened, glittering with ruby fire, and Kaden blew a tiny, glorious set of sparks from his pursed lips. That was his boy, and Bryan’s, all the way.

And he had never been happier in his life.
