“Sláinte, Beautiful.” I picked up the glass, tapped it against hers, and downed the shot. Elaina slammed back her drink and disgust crossed her face almost instantly, making me chuckle.

“You look miserable,” I offered her a sympathetic smile then pushed her mixed drink in front of her.

“It tastes so nasty,” she grimaced and took a sip from her drink.

“You didn’t have to take the shots, Elaina. I would have understood the wordno.”

“I know. It’s okay,” she shrugged downplaying everything.

I appreciated her taking shots with me, but not if it was at her expense. Shots were supposed to be fun for the people taking them. Elaina was definitely not enjoying herself.

“What would you like to take shots of? I’ll drink your poison,” I offered.

“I’m good on shots for a bit,” she blushed. “Sadly, I’m a lightweight.”

“Ah. I see. Sorry,” I chuckled, lifting my mug to my lips and taking a slow sip.

Elaina watched me like a hawk the entire time. When I lowered my mug and looked at her, she was biting her bottom lip. Her cheeks were rosy. Her eyes were filled with desire or maybe it was my wishful thinking. Either way, her look made my dick hard and I shifted in my seat to adjust my hard-on.

“So…” I cleared my throat. “So, how long have you known Mallory?”

Elaina shook whatever thought she was having and raised her glass to her lips. She drank slowly with her gaze locked on mine. Almost as though she was daring me to say or do something.

Fuck. The things I’d do to you,I moaned to myself and began praying that Elaina wouldn’t notice just how sexy I found her to be.

“I’ve known Mallory forever or so it feels,” she giggled faintly. She turned in her seat and looked at me. “How long has the troublemaker worked for you?”

“Also feels like forever,” I joked, making her laugh. “I took over for my dad about four years ago. She was already my dad’s secretary so I took her on as my secretary.”

“She’s been holding out on me,” Elaina sighed.

“Oh. Yeah,” I grinned. “How so?”

Elaina’s cheeks reddened. She dropped her gaze to the table. Her slender fingers anxiously twirled a loose strand of her hair.

“Sorry. I didn’t mean to put you on the spot,” I apologized. She smiled softly but didn’t look at me.

“It’s okay. It serves my ass right,” she rolled her eyes then looked at me. “Open mouth. Insert foot. Right?”

“Right,” I chuckled. Elaina took a deep breath then force a smile. I could tell it was forced because of the look in her eyes. Whatever she was about to say was not what she wanted to talk about. “You don’t have–”

“She has a super hot boss, who she has been trying to hook me up with, but she never mentioned any of it to me. She’s fired,” she said firmly. “Definitely. Fucking. Fired.”

Her words had time standing still for me. I had been complimented a time or two throughout my life by some very attractive women; however, knowing Elaina found me attractive did something to me on a whole other level. I felt anxious, nervous, excited, aroused. So many emotions. And, they ferociously coursed through my veins.

What spell did you cast on me, Elaina?I wondered, staring down into her mesmerizing eyes.So fucking beautiful.

“Want me to fire her? I will. For you,” I grinned.

“Ooo. A man with power,” she teased.

Her words were meant to be playful but they made my dick rock solid. I cleared my throat then casually shifted in my seat. I needed to ease the pressure between my legs.

“Sorry. That came out kinda slutty,” Elaina giggled then sipped from her drink.

“Not slutty at all.” I picked up my drink. “But definitely sexy,” I admitted before taking a sip.

“Sexy? I think you have the wrong person, Sir.”
