Giovanni and I looked at each other and laughed. I picked my shirt up off the floor and slipped it back on.
“This way, sir,” I giggled and walked out of my room. If I was lucky, Jacob would still be outside and I could kill him.
Who the hell stalked their sister’s date?
I grabbed my purse on the way out the door. When Giovanni walked out of my house, I closed the door behind us and locked the door.
“This way,” Giovanni offered me his arm, and I slipped my arm through his.
Honk! Honk! Honk!
The sound of the horn startled me, but when I looked in the direction of where the sound was coming from. When my eyes landed on the cherry red, F-150 lowrider, I growled.
“This child,” I groaned.
“Is he going to be stalking us the entire day?” Giovanni sighed.
“He can’t stalk if he’s dead,” I growled, making Giovanni laugh.
“That’s true, but can’t fault him for caring about you,” he smiled down at me.
“Get on with your date already!” Jacob yelled at us. Giovanni growled and I groaned before turning our attention to Jacob.
“Ten bucks says I can get to him before you can,” I smirked.
“Twenty says I will,” Giovanni chuckled and then took off across the street towards Jacob’s truck. Jacob’s eyes widened.
“I was just kidding! Jesus!” Jacob yelled as he slammed his car intodriveand hauled ass down the street. Giovanni stopped walking and looked over his shoulder at me. He grinned ear to ear.
“You didn’t get to him so I don’t owe you anything,” I laughed. “So nice try.”
Giovanni smiled and walked over to me. He took my hand in his. I dropped my gaze down to our joined hands.
“Then we’ll just settle for holding hands the rest of the day,” he said, ushering me over to a nice four-door black truck. “Our chariot for today.”
“Will it turn into a pumpkin by a certain time?” I teased. Giovanni laughed and opened the passenger door.
“I hope not. I just paid thepumpkinoff,”he said, making me laugh. He helped me into his truck and waited until I was settled and buckled into my seat before closing the door. He made his way to the driverside, climbed in, and in less than a minute we were on our way.
“Come on. Don’t be a chicken,” I giggled as I grabbed Giovanni’s wrist with both of my hands.
“Oh. No, you don’t,” he laughed and tried to make a run for it.
“Giovanni!” I laughed. A wave crashed against the back of my leg sending a cold chill up my spine. I shrieked from the sudden change in temperature against my skin.
“See! It’s cold!” Giovanni chuckled. I wrapped my arms around his waist and attempted to pull him farther into the water with me. “Bethany!” he laughed.
“You said, we could do whatever I wanted after lunch,” I reminded him. His back was to me, but when his shoulders slumped, I knew I had won my way.
“You sure about this?” he sighed.
“Mmhmm.”
Giovanni turned to me and grinned. It wasn’t an innocent grin. It was a grin that meant I was in for it.
“Giovanni…” I warned and let go of his wrist. He grinned wider. “No. No. No.” I slowly backed away from him.
“No what, Bethany?” he chuckled, making me giggle.
