“Yes. I don’t want to be late.”

He climbs off the bed and wraps his big arms around me from behind. “Fine. But we should shower together to save time.”

I laugh at that, already knowing that will likely make us late but not caring at all. We head into the bathroom and turn on the shower, kissing as we wait for the water to heat up. And by the time we climb under the spray, we aren’t concerned with getting clean.

It helped me discover who I truly am and want to be. I can be free here. I have no idea what the future holds or if Owen and I will be together forever. Or if I’ll stay in the Ozarks or not.

But it doesn’t matter.

All that matters is right now, I’m happier than I’ve ever been, and I’m going to hold onto Owen for as long as I possibly can.

Hopefully forever.

But one thing I know now is I’ve truly found myself.

All it took was taking a chance, a cabin, and one totally hot stranger.
