“Yes. You can start Monday morning, after I’ve had a chance to break the news to Will. I can’t risk him seeing you today. I don’t have workman’s comp.”

He chuckled. “Understood.”

“And I’m going to have to tell Emma and Sheila. If they are completely against it, then I’ll have to respect their wishes.”

“Okay.”

“Good. I’ll see you Monday at nine a.m. sharp.”

He rose from the bench and smiled widely, tipping his hat. “I’ll be here.”

“Great.”

They said their goodbyes, and Rachel watched the old man stroll down the street until he disappeared around the corner.
