“Fuck!” Dom released a desperate pant. “I feel you, baby.”

“Yeah? You feel me?” My nut rose to my tip.

I drovethrough the wilderness and parked at the spot I usually stayed at. Today was carved out to film my survival and cooking content videos. Dom would now get to experience my hobby firsthand, and I hoped she didn’t find it boring. So far, she seemed fully invested in our little weekend adventure. It had been two weeks since her attack, and her eye was still healing,but it looked good. Most of the bruising was gone. There was only a faded dark line under her eye, but Dom was still stunning.

When we exited my truck, she handed me the things I needed for our tent. Beforehand, I set up my camera stand. I liked to film from start to finish. My tent was large but easy to install because it was partly inflatable. I got it up and running in no time. Next, I dragged in my big inflatable bed then plugged it in. While that was going, I setup the other items I used. There was a small table, heater, charging station for our electronics, and lighting. I had several camping lamps placed around the tent to make sure we had more than enough light.

Dom hadn’t stopped smiling since we parked. That was a clear sign she enjoyed our little outdoor rendezvous.

“Are we done, or do we have more to set up?” she probed then nibbled on her lower lip.

I smirked. I found every little gesture or facial expression she made to be cute.

“We’re done setting up our camp. It’s time to set up for the meal I’ll prepare for my viewers. You don’t have to help. You can simply watch me,” I answered.

“No. I want to help.” Dom smiled. “I’m enjoying being in this space with you so much. At first, I was scared, but now, I’m not. I want to discover and accept this new experience as much as I can. So, tell me. How can I help?”

“You’re the best. I’ll surely welcome your help. First, I’ll get the fire going. Next, I’m going to scrub those two slabs of big rocks clean. Using one of the rocks, you can prep our veggies.”

Dom made a funny face. “On a rock?” she inquired with her mouth pulled into look of disgust.

I snickered. “Those rocks are nature’s chopping boards. Don’t worry. I clean them well with the water from the stream then I rinse it with the distilled bottles of water I brought. Whenyou go camping, you sometimes have to live off the land. That’s what I’m going to show you this weekend. You still down?”

Dom nodded. “Yeah. I’ll try to be more open.”

“My girl. In that brown satchel are the knives, but please be careful because they are really sharp. I’ll do the meat afterward. You’ll see how it all plays out.”

“Okay, love.”

I kissed her cheek then walked away. Dom looked on with intrigue as I built the small stone and wood fireplace. Afterward, I lit it, and we now had fire. I removed the small bottle of dish soap from my bag and scrubbed the rocks cleaned by the stream. When I was done, I thoroughly rinsed the large stones. I carried them back over to Dom. We got into a good groove slicing and dicing our veggies.

Dom grinned widely. “Sur, I’m having a great time so far.”

She popped a sliced red pepper into her mouth then went back to work.

“I’m glad I can be the reason for that beautiful smile.”

I looked up from time to time at her. She sliced red, green, and orange peppers then the onions. I quickly seasoned the meat. I took out my trusty cast iron skillet and let it heat with oil. Once it was ready, I tossed in all of her veggies and seasoned them lightly. While they cooked, we sliced potatoes into fries.

“What are we having for dinner?” Dom questioned.

“Steak, fries, and sautéed veggies.”

“Ooh, that sounds yummy,” she announced.

“It will be.” I winked at her. “Do you like your new doorbell?”

She nodded with a cute smile. “I really do. It makes me feel safer when you and Lai aren’t around. I can’t thank you both enough for being there for me.”

“No thank you is needed, princess. I told you that.”

“I get it, baby, but I can spare a thank you. It’s the least I can do.”
