He was consuming my very soul.

Energy vibrated down my vertebrae.

Panting, l jumped and wrapped my legs around his waist as he filled both hands with my backside, his fingers digging into the round cheeks as he stood. He broke the kiss, and a voracious smile spread across his face.

Therewas his dimple.

He kissed me hard and then tossed my body onto his bed. I bounced once, my breasts heavy and breathing ragged. I propped myself up on my elbows, licking my lips as I took in his body. He undid the ties and pushed down his breeches, his solid cock springing free. A sharp gasp slipped from my throat at the sight of him.

His body was glorious and surely carved from marble. My eyes trailed over the expanse of his muscular chest, bracketed by thick, powerfully built arms. His sculpted abs tapered into a delicious V-shaped expanse, guiding my vision to his impressive arousal. I swallowed, my mouth beginning to water.

He prowled toward me; his gaze feral as he stared at me with single-minded intent. He reached the edge of the bed. His eyes flashed before he wrapped his hands around my ankles, pulling me towardhim in one swift motion. My backside was near the edge, legs dangling freely on either side of his hips.

“You’re the most exquisite creature I’ve ever seen. Every delicious inch of you,” he breathed, sliding his palms from my knees to the seam where my core met my legs. His thumbs drew light circles over the damp fabric covering my aching juncture, torturing me. His smile was pure wickedness.

He looped his thumbs under the undergarment, slipping it down my legs. He brought them to his nose, inhaling reverently.

A burst of flames spread across my face and chest, a choked whimper escaping me. I didn’t have time to process such carnality. This man was driving me insane.

He slid one hand up my leg. My hip. My belly. His broad, wet tongue licked a path up the inside of my other leg, now bent and propped on the edge of the bed. He leaned forward, stretching his hand out to cup my breast, his palm kneading and plucking at the pebbled nipple. His lips met the crease of my thigh, kissing and nipping, his stubble rasping against the sensitive skin.

My whole body trembled in waves. I would not survive him—had nothing tethering me to reality.

My hands slammed into Gavrel’s hair, hips lifting from the bed, seeking relief. His deep chuckle hummed along my skin, his breath hot against my thigh.

“Impatient as always.”

“I’ll have you know?—”

He dragged his tongue through my slit, already soaked with desire. Smirking, he looked up at me from between my legs. He licked his bottom lip and then scraped his front teeth over it. “Delicious … you were saying?” I shook my head, unable to find the words.

He smiled, and then gently sucked the pulsing nub at my apex. His tongue circled and flicked the bundle of nerves over and over until I was squirming and vibrating with need. My feet were planted on the bed, heels digging into the quilt.

“Gavrel, I … I can’t handle… It’s too much,” I cried.

He placed one large palm on my thigh, ensuring that I couldn’tescape his relentless attention, his tongue flicking faster and faster. With his other hand, he pinched my nipple one last time before slipping his palm down my slick skin. Two thick fingers slid easily into my drenched center, pumping in tandem with his tongue.

A scream ripped from me as my mind imploded, and a burst of my ember zipped across my skin, illuminating Gavrel’s glowing emerald eyes.

My body vibrated, the trembling starting in my legs and rocketing up to my chest. My release exploded through me in waves as I moaned wantonly and squeezed my thighs around Gavrel’s head.

All at once, I was boneless, my legs falling to the sides, my glowing arms flung above my head, heavy and tingling. He languidly licked up my core one last time, placing a kiss above my mound.

A dreamy smile curved my lips as he helped me shift onto the plush bed. My spent muscles sank into the soft mattress. He crawled over me, resting his hips below mine, our bellies touching. His brows softened as he looked at me, his eyes simmering.

I wrapped my arms around his back, running my fingers over the flexing muscles. He looked into my eyes.

“You are the beginning and the end for me, my star. I would burn down every realm to get to you.”

My fingers trembled as they grazed his cheek, lingering before I smoothed a black strand behind his ear. I stared into his soul and into the devastating honesty he blanketed me in. He wasn’t hiding from me anymore.

His hands were still and gripping the silk beneath us for dear life.

He was my fated khorda, and I chose him not because of this … But because I needed him more than I needed to breathe. He was the very heart beating within my chest, and no talisman could take that from me.

His lips hovered a fraction from mine. My words skimmed over his skin. “You are my beyond, Gavrel. I chose you long ago, but I was too terrified to admit it. And I don’t need the bond to tell me that.”

Our mouths met again, tenderly this time. My center began tothrob again, my chest pulling in deep, shaky breaths between our mating lips.
