“Good you are awake,” he said. “You know I have always thought you were a beautiful and sexy woman Amanda. Now look at where we are. I have two choices. Option one is to just kill you, but option two sounds better to me. You want to know what option two is? Sure you do! Option two is to fuck your brains out right now.”

That’s when I saw the red lights one his head and chest coming from the window behind me. The calvary is here. Good thing because I was going to kill him before he touched me.

He saw the lights too and moved to kneel in front of me. To shoot him, they would have to shoot me. Then the doors exploded, and I can’t see anyone, but I know they are there. A man moves behind Tim and breaks his neck with one movement. Must have been one of the Seals and Bounty. But when he spoke I knew, I knew then that it was Brandon. He really was a killer.

“Amelia, are you okay?” he asked as he cut the ropes that had my hands and legs tied to the chair. Then he picked me up in his arms to carry me out and I could finally relax, and before I knew it I was crying and moaning from the pain into his neck. “It’s okay baby. I got you and I promise nothing like this will ever happen again. I will kill every man that every hurts you again.”

I just kept crying as he gently laid me on the stretcher and the EMTs went to work on me. I blacked out again then.

Sixteen hours later….

I wake up and blink my eyes a few times to focus. I shake and began to scream until Brandon jumped up and set on the side of my bed.

“Amelia,” he said as he lifted my right hand and kissed it. “You are okay. Just rest.”

“Is it over? Please just tell me the organization has been brought down,” I said in a raspy voice.

“Yes, the organization has been brought down and Torello was just a name used as the head of the organization, the real head was Officer Tim Brown and he is dead. I killed him,” Brandon said.

“I thought I had dreamed you rescuing me,” I said.

“No, baby. I came for you and I came with a vengeance,” he replied then kissed my hand again as I drifted back to sleep.

Another twenty-four hours later….

I wake up again and look around the room.Yes, I am in the hospital, safe.

Then I see him, Brandon. He is sitting in the chair beside my bed with his elbow on the arm of the chair and his head laying in his hand. He looked so good just sitting there.

About that time Wolf walks in.

“You know he has been by your side since he put you in that ambulance. And in that chair since you got out of surgery,” Wolf said quietly trying not to wake Brandon up, but he wasn’t quite enough.

“Your whispering needs some work,” Brandon said as he set up in the chair.

I just looked at him, and he smiled at me, then stood up and kissed my right hand.

“What you got for us, Wolf?” Brandon asked.

“We got the Russian and all of his comrades in Russia, Mexico, and Cuba. We found a couple of small cells in other parts of the United States and the FBI has sent teams out to bring them down. They have gotten five out of seven so far. But they will get the others down by the end of the week,” Wolf said. “I just wanted to come and see you personally, Amelia. I wanted to tell you that we got them personally and to check on you. You are one tough, strong and brave woman.”

I have to clear my throat before replying, “Thank you Wolf, for everything. I knew your team would get them.”

“Well, since you are awake, I will go tell the guys in the lobby. The whole Seals and Bounty team is out there, Agent Lewis and Captain Shepherd. I heard Deputy Chief Reece stopped by earlier but had to leave. I am sure he will be back when he know you are awake,” Wolf said. “I will tell them to give you two a few minutes of privacy Brandon.” Then he came over and squeezed my hand and told me he would check on me again before he left Las Vegas.

“How are you feeling?” Brandon asked. “Do you need me to get the nurse or the doctor before everyone starts to come in and see you? Or do you want me to have them all wait another day?”

“I am okay. I am sore and feel like I was ran over by a large truck. My vision isn’t fuzzy like it was the last time I remember opening them and seeing you,” I said. “Brandon, I…”

As if he could read my mind he said, “You don’t have to say anything.”

“Thank you anyway. You not only saved me, but you killed Tim and not with a gun, with your bare hands. Are you okay?” I asked.

“I am a former Marine Amelia. My hands are weapons that I have used more than once. That doesn’t mean taking a mans life is any easier because of it. But it does mean that I know how to separate the job from my feelings,” he said, and before I could say anything else in walked Agent Lewis and Captain Shepherd.

They asked me how I was feeling. Then Terry, Kadon, Wyatt, Ava, Brian, Detective Connors and Derrick walked in, and they all set down and told me how they found me and how they took down the organization completely while I was in the hospital. They said that Brandon never left the hospital. His goal was to find you, safe you and keep you safe while they went after everyone in the organization.

I had no idea what was going on with Brandon. I didn’t know why he wouldn’t leave my room. I hoped he wasn’t blaming himself for me being kidnapped and what happened to me. It wasn’t his fault. He had no idea that Johnnie B was going to switch cars. I didn’t know it either so there was nothing he could have done differently. But I didn’t have time to tell him after everyone left, I had fallen back to sleep.
