For a moment, she just stares at me, as if I just spoke in an unfamiliar language and she’s trying to decipher what I said. Finally, she speaks, her voice small. “Why? Where are you taking me?”
“Nowhere, for now. Just get in the car.”
She hesitates, gripping the strap of her bag tighter. “Tell me where we’re going, and I will.”
I let out a sigh. Of all moments to be stubborn…
Leaning against the open car door, I fix her with a steady gaze. “Why the hundred questions?”
“Because I don’t want to get into a car with you when I have no idea what we’re doing or where we’re going. I don’t want tobe murdered inside of a Tesla in the fucking parking lot,” she replies, the bite in her voice returning with every word.
“I could just force you, you know?” I state with a shrug, crossing my arms, my gaze never straying from her face.
I watch her as she stumbles back a step, the color draining out of her face.
“You w-wouldn’t,” she stammers.
I roll my eyes internally, now she’s scared.
“Fine,” I bite out, pushing off from the car and taking a step towards her. “You want to know why you should get in the car?” My voice lowers as I continue, the all-consuming lust in me bleeding into my words. “I want to fuck you with my fingers, and I don’t want anyone to hear you coming for me.” I smirk as she blanches. “Unless you’re a fan of that kind of stuff. I’m down if you’re down, sweetheart.”
Rhea’s face flushes, her eyes widening at the audacity of my words. She swallows, her grip on her bag tightening “I-I- you…”
I step towards her again and she stumbles back again. “Didn’t you agree to do everything I say, Dove?”
She glances nervously around, looking from the car to the empty parking lot and back to me. For a second, I think she’s going to bolt, but then she takes a slow, shaky breath, her expression steeling itself.
Without a word, she side steps me and slides into the open back seat, her shoulders tense and her gaze fixed straight ahead.
I can’t help the smirk that tugs at my lips as I shut her door and make my way around to the other side. Once I’m in, the silence between us is thick with tension.
For a moment, I watch her, noting the way she clenches her hands in her lap, trying to mask the uncertainty that lingers in her gaze. For all her fire and defiance, she’s here, with me, whether she likes it or not.
“You’re too far away, Dove. There’s lots of space over here.” I laugh, patting the seat beside me.
She’s across the seat away from me, almost pressing up against the door. “I’m fine here. Thanks.”
Part of me wants to reach out and pull her into my lap, but I stop myself. That would only make her fight me harder. She’s already wary of me, so it’s better not to push her too much.
Slow…
I lower my voice, soft but still firm. “I’m not a monster am I, baby? No reason to be scared of me.”
She doesn’t respond, but her narrowed eyes and the set of her jaw say enough. I can practically hear her thoughts. You’re not fooling anyone.
I almost laugh at how transparent she is, but I keep it in check. That won’t help anything right now. But it is quite obvious what she thinks of me. No sugar coating there.
She can hate me all she wants but the fact is––she’s mine now and I’m never letting her go.
But this will go nowhere if she doesn’t loosen up.
An idea pops into my head, and I smile. She’s so stubborn that it might actually work.
“Are you really scared of me, Dove? Where’s that fire from before, huh? The girl that stood up to me, all confident and fiery?” I shift a tiny bit closer to her, my smile widening. “She was so fucking sexy.”
I watch her jaw clench, her eyes flickering with irritation. I can see the temptation to snap, to fight back, but she’s holding it in, the pressure building behind those narrowed eyes.
I lean in just a fraction more, savoring the way her body tightens, her resistance practically radiating off her. It’s a game now, and I can see it in the way her eyes burn with something dangerous, something she’s trying to hold back.
