He shook his head, as the elevator let us know that we had reached our floor. The moment the elevator doors opened we stepped off and Mazzier pointed toward the last door of the hall. The moment we approached the door, it seemed to be opening. Before he knew it we rushed the door and pushed it open. He must’ve stepped back because the door came open. Mazz was the first to cross the threshold and I saw the nigga’s fist collide with Mazzier’s Jaw before he turned around and hit his ass back. Old boy didn’t even know Quari and I was behind him because he was too busy squaring up with Mazz. He also didn’t hear me close the door or when Quari popped him in the back of the head with the butt of his gun. Off impact, old boy fell to the ground.

I glared over at Quari with a mug. “No Finesse whatsoever.”

“What do you expect? I saw how hard that big nigga hit Mazz, I wasn’t about to go heads up with this nigga.”

“Fuck! I know I’m about to have to hear Gayze’s mouth about this shit.” Mazz looked in the mirror at the bruise already forming on his jaw.

“Now where are we supposed to put Mutombo?” I asked looking down at him. He was out cold against the wooden floor.

Quari started to walk back and forth looking for something to transport him in, but nine times out of ten he didn’t have shit large enough for his big ass. Seconds later I heard bags ruffling and Quari was coming from the back of this man’s house with two big dumb ass garbage bags.

I shook my head but before I could look back at Quari, a big ass case in The corner caught my eye. “Hell nah, I got a better idea.” Seconds later, I pointed toward the large trunk in the corner of the room.

“Now you have ya thinking cap on.” Quari threw the garbage bags that he was in the middle of doubling onto the ground and walked over to grab the trunk.

I watched him roll the trunk over to me before opening it. As soon as he opened it, a stench so vile that you would’ve thought something was inside of it dead. When I looked in, it looked clean but the smell coming from it could clear a fucking funeral. Once we had him stuffed in the trunk, I stood over him and looked from Mazz to Quari who had his shirt over his face. “How do we know he’ll stay asleep?”

“Because of this.” Quari pulled a syringe from his back pocket and quickly jabbed it into the man’s neck. The shit happened so fast before he slammed the trunk and locked the sides.

“His ass will be out for a while.” Quari shrugged. He was so nonchalant about the shit that I couldn’t help but laugh.Laughter escaped my lungs before Mazzier opened the door for us to leave.

“I’m starting to think you enjoy jabbing syringes in motherfucker’s necks.” I gave Quari the side eye.

QUARI

I did thirty-five all the way to the warehouse because I wanted to get this over with. The more time passed the more I wanted to be home with Love and my daughter. These days I felt a little different, like I had more to lose than I did before. That always sat on my brain, that and making sure I’m not wasn’t wasting her time. Love was it for a nigga like me and I just wanted to show her that.

When I pulled into the warehouse, I hopped out of the car and went around to the back where Kasair met me.

“Probably wanna be easy, you already the way you drove this motherfucker, he’s already dead. You probably broke his neck.”

“Ole reckless driving ass.” Mazzier walked up and helped me get the trunk from the back of my car since Kasair was just standing there.

“But did anybody die?” I looked from Mazzier to Kasair. When neither of them responded, I shrugged them pulled the trunk toward the doors that separated us from the area Joy was being held in. Once we entered the room, my nostrils flared at the stench that filled them. This was the second time today my nose had been shocked like this, I don’t think I could take that shit again. I stepped back from the case and made sure to stuff my nose in my shirt before Mazzier opened the trunk. When he opened it, I peeked over into it and Sosa was still knocked out. I didn’t even understand how he was asleep in that shit. it meant he was one of those funky ass niggas. Instead of steppingforward to help them get him out, I crossed my arms and stood back. I refused to touch his funky ass at this point.

Once they had him up against the wall, I glanced over at Kasair who was watching me.

“How the fuck you good at knocking motherfuckers off and stuffing them in bags and shit, but you can’t take a smell with your nice nasty ass.”

A laugh escaped my lips. “Stop shit talking and wake her ass up.” I pointed over to old girl asleep in the chair. Just looking over at her made me cringe. Nobody had touched her or anything, but shorty smelled like straight garbage can juice.

“How are you gonna wake his ass up? You must’ve given that nigga horse tranquilizers.”

I nodded my head before I ran out to my car. Once I got to my car, I pulled the taser from under my seat before returning. When I walked in they were both looking at me, before I walked over to buddy against the wall and turned it on. I had experience in this shit, the best way to wake a motherfucker up from a deep sleep was to shock the senses. Seconds later the electric prone made contact with his skin and his body jerked like he was doing the Harlem shake. He was still unconscious, so I pushed the taser into the same spot and held it there a little longer. Once I removed it, I just looked at him before stepping back.

It was definitely delayed, but seconds later his eyes popped open and he screamed out in pain. Yeah, I had his ass there because after his eyes scanned myself, Mazz and Kasair his eyes landed on his dirty ass sister across from him. The difference for him was that he wasn’t tied up or anything. As if the same thought hit his brain his eyes began to dart.

“Nope, you stay ya big ass right there unless you wanna play catch with this bullet.” Kasair’s voice filled the area.

Seconds later the sound of water splashing made me glance in the direction of old girl. Mazzier had thrown a bucket of what Iknew for sure was rain water on her. Her peaceful sleep was over and she was now coughing and acting like she was drowning.

“Bitch yeen drowning, cool out and stop coughing.” Kasair called out with his gun still aimed at old boy.

I clapped my hands and they both looked my way. “Now we can get a motherfucking conversation started. So this is how this is about to go. For every time that I ask one of y’all a question and you or the other don’t answer, I’m gonna send a slug. Feel me?”

“I swear if yeen have that gun, I’d be?—”

“You’d what?” Within a second, I sent a shot through his left shoulder. It slung him back against the bricks as he clutched his shoulder screaming out in pain. “So since he wanted to catch the first one, you speak Joy. Where’s ya pops?”
