“C’mon, Mama.” Irish shook his head at her mannish old ass.

“Hey, Ms. Phillips,” Malik greeted my grandmother.

Here her ass was winking again. She needed to stop. “What, I’m just stating the obvious. You know you got your sweet tooth from me, Ree.”

“Grandma.” I shook my head at her.

“I’m just saying. But what brings you by, baby?”

“I was in the car with Irish when you called. I’m about to go with him, let me know what you need in the morning, Grandma.” I referred to her groceries. Since my grandmother was at that fragile age, we all took turns getting her groceries and picking up what she needed if she needed anything at any point.

She nodded. “Mhmm, you be good now.”

I shook my head at what the old woman was insinuating with the crooked toothy smile and slight nod of her head. After my brother cracked a few jokes Malik and I left.

Usually we wentto my house, but today he insisted on going to his. Why, I didn’t know, but I didn’t put up a fight, I just agreed. When we entered his house, I was completely taken aback at the setup.

“Still don’t believe me when I said we had plans today?” He led me into his living room where he had it dimly lit and flowers leading us into the room.

“What’s this for?” I looked around the space.

“Some pussy.”

I turned around and looked at this nasty ass, and sure as hell he had a big ass smile on his face. “Why you gotta be nasty?”

“Because you like me that way, don’t you?”

“Do I?”

“With no fucking choice you sure in the fuck do. You like for me to tell you how I’ma eat the pussy, and for how long. You li?—”

“Okay, I get it. If your point was to make me as nasty as you were, you just did. I’m just as nasty as my man.” I winked.

“Don’t be doing that. All this fucking food will be on the floor, and you’ll be bent over that table.”

I chuckled because he was right. “Seriously though, why did you do this?”

“Why not? I told you what you deserve, and now that you belong to me I’ma give you exactly that.”

His statement was sweet, shit he was when he wanted to be. He had this way about him that always had me clenching mythighs in his presence. Always had me trying to find the nearest washroom to freshen up because he was just that much.

Within seconds his arms were around my waist as he held me close. “You believe me, don’t you?”

“Always.”

For the remainder of the night we ate and talked about our days basking in one another’s company like that of teenage adolescents with nothing to do in the morning. I hated to think that what Malik and I had was only in honeymoon stages, because I felt like it wasn’t. However didn’t all men start out all intrigued to get a female comfortable before they switched it up? Before they showed those inconsistencies that they hid at first and introduced a narcissistic evil twin. Something told me Malik wasn’t like that.

“Why are you staring at me, shorty?”

“I wasn’t technically staring at you. I was thinking about something.”

“Something like what?” He never gave me the time to speak because his lips were on mine within seconds. Then like a moth to a flame, my bottom lip was trapped between his and mine.

“You taste so fucking good.” He pecked me one last time, before sitting back against his side of the makeshift palette we made on the floor in his living room. This was cute and in any relationship moments like this were one-hundred percent necessary.

“Tell me about your mom,” I requested out of nowhere because what Zero’s sister said about his childhood kind of stuck with me.

“Random as fuck, but ain’t shit to tell. Her true love was a high she chased my entire life.”
