“Cooper, you’re freezing. You can’t even talk properly. Just get in the damn shower so you can warm up.”
“B–but…” she stutters, gaze darting between me and the shower.
“What?” I demand, blowing out a frustrated breath.
“I’ll get all w–wet!” she blurts, throwing her hands in the air for only a second before she’s forced to cross her arms again.
I tilt my head at her, giving her a pointed look. “I think that ship has sailed, Cooper.”
“But, m–my change of c–clothes–”
“I will go get your damn clothes if you’re so insistent on being a stubborn pain in the ass and not wearing mine.”
Cooper stands up straight, her teeth chewing at her trembling lower lip.
“Just get in the shower.”
She shakes her head.
“Cooper.”
“N–no,” she insists, looking away from me.
“You’re shivering harder by the second.”
“I–I’m f–fine. I'll ju–just go g–get my change of c–clothes–”
That’s it.
She can’t even form a sentence. She looks as pale as a ghost. She needs to get in the damn shower and under the hot water.
I dart forward, grabbing her around the waist and picking her up.
“Wh–what the hell?!P–put me d–down!” Cooper shrieks, kicking her feet pathetically as she fights against me.
“If I put you down, will you get in the shower?” I ask.
“Yes! F–f–fine!”
I come to a stop just in front of the shower.
Really?
I hesitantly set Cooper on her feet, releasing my arm from around her waist.
And she bolts.
Or, at least, she tries.
She doesn’t get far before I catch her, dragging her back to the shower.
“Wh–what is your p–problem?!” Cooper demands.
“Me?Cooper, what isyourproblem?” I shoot back as she continues to fight me.
“Currently,you!”
I lift Cooper up enough to get her feet over the lip of the tub, but she straightens her legs, pushing off of it. “I d–don’t want to g–get in the sh–shower!”
