My arm nearly gives out from exhaustion, but I catch us in time, falling back onto my calves with Cecilia straddling me backwards, my cock still lodged deep inside of her.
Once my breath has settled a bit, I lift her spent body and delicately lay her on the bed, removing the handcuffs and turning her to her back. Her eyes are closed, but she’s smiling.I think my girl had enough for tonight.
I get off the bed and head into the bathroom, grabbing a warm washcloth, then return to my Minnie and proceed to cleaning her, her body still too weak to move.
When I’m done, I pick up my clothes from the floor and put them in the laundry bin with the washcloth in the bathroom, then head back to the room and open the door for Milo.
I climb into bed with my lover, bringing her to me and covering us with the comforter before closing the bedside lamp. She rests her head on my chest and swings one leg over mine as I lay on my back with one arm wrapped around her.
“Happy New Year, Silas,” she whispers, looking up at me with the most beautiful smile.
“Happy New Year, Minnie.” I grab her chin and kiss her with promises of forever.
A few minutes later, Milo jumps onto the bed at my feet and comes up to curl into a ball at my other side. Cecilia has already fallen into a deep sleep, her soft purrs the only sound that can be heard.
Tonight didn’t go as planned, I had the whole dropping down to one knee and speech planned out. But then everything went out the window the moment I sawher sitting on the bed in nothing but a bow.My favorite gift.
I scratch Milo’s ear as he lifts his head, looking my way. Then he tilts to his mama and back to me, as if he’s questioning if I did it. I smile at the smart boy and stroke his fur. “Not yet, buddy. Tomorrow,” I say quietly.
~ The Next Day / January ~
I wake up before Cecilia and decide now is as good as ever. I manage to slip out of bed without waking her and head into the walk-in. I pull open my drawer filled with expensive watches that I rarely wear, don’t ask why I have them, and pull out the small black velvet jewelry box.
I walk back to the bed and climb back in, placing the ring box behind Cecilia’s sleeping form. I lower my head and pepper soft kisses to her shoulder, then pass my fingers through her hair gently, brushing little strands away from her sweet face.
She begins to stir a little, eyelashes fluttering to life. When she sees me, an electrifying smile overtakes her features. “Silas.”
Every morning that we spend together, she does this, calling my name the moment she wakes up as if she can’t believe I’m really here. She has no idea how much that affects me, I wake up every morning searching for her voice.
“Good morning, beautiful,” I whisper, my voice still raspy from sleep.
She brings her hands up and glides her fingers through my hair as I lean over her warm body. She pulls my hair gently, bringing my lips down to hers for a magical kiss. A kiss that clears all the doubts and worries from my mind. It’s as if she sensed my stress and knew exactly what I needed.
I caress the side of her face as I pull back slightly, just enough to gaze into each other’s eyes. In this moment, all I see in her pretty hazel eyes is a lifetime of love, a lifetime of happiness... a lifetime of her.
My heart warms and grows at the thought. And I know, without a doubt in this instant, that I’m doing the right thing.
“Marry me.”
Chapter twenty-four
Cecilia
Reminder for Minnie: NO RUNNING ON BEDS!
“Marry me.”
My heart stills, a shaky breath leaving my lungs. I feel my eyes widen, my lips slowly parting. My throat is tight as I try to swallow past the lump in it, butterflies breaking out of their cage and soaring swiftly in my belly.
“W-what?” I release his hair and bring my quivering hand to my chest, pressing against my rapidly beating heart, my eyes welling up with tears.
He smiles, kissing my lips tenderly. “Marry me, Minnie. I know it’s scary, and you feel like everything between us is moving at lightning speed, but time shouldn’t dictate when to do things right. Because everything between us, Cecilia, feels right.Isright.”
A tear slips free as he uses his thumb to swipe it away. “I don’t want to wait anymore. I don’t want to call you my girlfriend anymore. I want to call you my wife. I want you to take my last name and be the mother of my children. I want us to grow old and gray together. I want everything with you. So, say yes, be my forever. Because I’m already yours. Marry me, Minnie.”
The tears race down to my ears, my bottom lip wobbling. He reaches behind me and extracts a small black box.It was right there, and I had no idea. This isn’t an impulse, it was planned.
He opens the little box, and a gorgeous engagement ring shines brightly with the sunlight filtering through the room.
