He helps me out and dries me off, my limbs likejelly. I open the bathroom door with my towel wrapped around me, Khaos at my heels, and slam straight into Sam.

“Oh my God!” I jump, unaware that she had been just outside this whole time.

With her arms crossed against her chest and an eyebrow cocked, she smirks at me.

“I was just... We were... Uh?” I stutter, completely lost for words.

“Fucking.” Khaos finishes, slipping around me.

She spares him a single glance but her double take causes Khaos alarm. When her eyes widen, he realizes the same thing she does, and immediately brings his palm up to cover the lower half of his face.

“You can trust her.” I reassure him.

“I would never out you. Hurting you would clearly hurt Ash and if anything, trust that I would never hurt Ash.” She affirms.

Slowly, he lowers his hand, but can’t bring himself to look at her. He’s glaring at me, probably praying to himself that he can trust me.

“I’ll let you two get ready. Ash, reservations are in fifteen, so hurry up.” She reminds me.

I rush to throw my clothes on, braid my hair, and add some makeup taking me just slightly less than the time Sam gave me. Khaos and I join the others in the living room, Sam sitting on Hypnos’ lap.

Than stands to his feet as Khaos comes in behind me, still maskless. His brows raised nearly to his hairline as he tries to accept what he’s seeing. “So, you finally trust Ash now?”

"Obviously, look at them.” Hypnos gestures towards us with his hand.

“Awe you two getting married and poppin’ out some little creepers?” Kokytos teases.

“You guys would definitely make some cute kids.” Hailey smiles, snuggling into her boyfriend's side.

I cringe, “I think we’ve taken our relationship from deeply despising one another to more of a toleration.”

Hypnos snorts, “You tolerated him for the last two hours.”

Heat stains my face and Khaos smirks, stealing a glance my way. He loves the fact that I’m not denying us, but I keep having to remind myself that just because he makes my body bow down to him doesn’t mean my heart has to. I’m here for a good time, not a long time and I would be stupid to think otherwise.

Sam jumps off of Hypnos’ lap and grabs my hand. “We have to get going.”

I follow her out, Khaos right on my heel. As the door opens, he yanks me, shutting it with Sam on the other side. Her fists rain down on the wood between us as he slams me against it. His mouth ravages mine, a kiss of a starving man, his fingers splayed along my ribcage, grip tight. He sucks the breath right out of me, leaving me gasping for air.

“See you tonight.” He smirks, his lips grazing mine.

Without a response, I push him off me, opening the door again. I leave him with a teasing smile before following an annoyed Sam down the hallway of the hotel. My body has given him everything he’s asked for. He doesn’t need my words. Apparently, I’ve been known to lie.

“Tolerating each other, huh?” Her face evident with disbelief.

“Yeah, kind of like aroommates with benefitssituation.” I explain.

Another lie.

We slip into a cab even though the walk is short, Sam doesn’t feel like taking the hike in heels. I, on the other hand, stick to my Converse on show nights because they can be long.

My phone vibrates inside my pocket, pulling it out I find Blane’s name on the caller ID.

“Hey boss.” I answer.

“Ashton.” His voice filters through the speaker. “I see your tour is in Chicago tonight. I’ll be stopping by to check the band out.”

“Oh, great! I’ll see you there.” I tell him, nervously.
