“Um, hell yes! You have to come out! We’ll be in Chicago next month, why don’t you join us then?” I ask, the excitement palpable.
She starts squealing. “Yes! Oh my God! I’m totally down.”
Hypnos laughs, “Perfect! We’ll get you a backstage pass and some of the finer flower.”
“What the hell is finer flower?” Sam scrunches her perfectbutton nose.
“Weed.” Hypnos explains, chuckling. “Have you ever smoked?”
She shakes her head, no.
“Oh man! Are you telling me your girl here is more corrupt than you are?” He goads.
“What? Ash! You didn’t tell me you tried weed.” She frowns and I feel bad that I haven’t told her a lot of what’s happened these last few weeks. “And no, I wouldn’t say Ash is more corrupt than I am. She’s never even-”
“Got to go! Byeeeee!” I hang up before she can out me for all the things I’ve never done. I don’t need to be called a prude again.
“Awe what the heck? She was just about to share fun facts about Ash.” He groans.
“That’s the last thing we need.” I mutter.
Khaos storms out of the bathroom, a towel wrapped around his waist.
“Out.” He demands, nodding his head towards the door.
Hypnos scoots off the bed and I follow.
Chapter Thirteen
Khaos
It’s an hour before the show and the woman in front of me is finishing up the last touches of my paint. I can see Ash in the corner of my eye filming me, like this part of the pre-show is too important to miss. She’s watching me through the camera and though I hate being filmed, I like that she’s watching me. I inch my jeans a little lower for the woman and catch Ash biting her lower lip. She doesn’t even know she’s doing it.
“Stop drooling.” I finally say.
Her eyes snap up to meet mine, completely oblivious that I’m watching her watch me.
“Yeah right.” She grumbles before walking away.
“I think we let loose a little tonight. I got some party favors!” Hypnos shouts.
“What kind of party favors?” Kokytos asks.
Hypnos starts handing out little baggies, molly in each one. I shake my head, not into it.
“Don’t worry, it’s a low dose. You’ll be asleep by the time the sun rises, no different than most nights.” He winks.
He walks up to Ash, lowering the camera. “You in?”
She looks around, Kokytos and Than already taking theirs, Hypnos tossing his down. She looks uncomfortable.
“She’s not taking it.” I tell him.
I’m guessing it’s the wrong thing to say because she looks directly at me and says, “Yeah, I’m in.”
“You’re not doing it.” I growl.
She smirks, then turns to Hypnos. “I’m doing it.”
