“Good, they can have at it.” I laid my head on his chest and wrapped my arms around him. I was a little disappointed that he had wrapped a towel around his waist. I was becoming accustomed to him being naked all the time.
A repeated knocking and shuffling from the other room made Hawke tighten his grip around my body. I stiffened, wondering if Chad or some other guard managed to get inside the cabin.
“Hey, is it over?” Bram’s raspy voice radiated from the other room.
Whoops, forgot about the warlock.
“Bram!” I had almost forgotten the poor man and wiggled my way out of Hawke’s powerful arms.
With a loud, deep grunt, Hawke marched out of the room, his footsteps clattering and shaking the floor with each step.
“Delilah!” Hawke abruptly took my hand and yanked me in his direction. He wrapped his hand around my waist and had me tucked under his arm. “You stay with me, you don’t leave my sight, do you understand?” He tapped my nose with his finger. “You don’t listen well, and you will be punished later for your blatant disregard for my orders.”
His eyes narrowed, and the vein in his forehead throbbed.
“Yes, Daddy,” I rolled my eyes.
Hawke’s eyes widened, and his cock responded with a flick to my thigh.
Oh, he liked that, didn’t he?
He squeezed my hip, and a lustful purr radiated from his chest. “You know, finishing the day with blood on my claws and rutting my mate sounds like a good plan.”
Hawke kept me pinned with one hand on my hip and the other next to my head while he leaned up against the wall. “And I think you just opened yourself to a new kink I might like.”
My cheeks blazed red, and I felt it running down my neck and to the tops of my breasts.
“Hmm, how far does this blush go?”
“Guys!” Bram shouted more forcefully this time, and Hawke groaned.
“Such a buzzkill.”
“He is hurt.” I playfully tapped his shoulder.
Hawke didn’t let me go. He held onto my hand as we entered the room and found Bram still sitting in the chair where we left him.
What kind of selfish friends were we?
Dried blood was crusted around his mouth, and he had adjusted his head to a more upright position. “You guys put on a good show. Didn’t know you had it in you, Delilah.” He winced when he moved his shoulders.
“Are you okay? You are such a stubborn thing using your magic. This cabin isn’t magic at all is it?” I asked, looking him over.
I went to the sink, which was no longer as luxurious as it used to be and grabbed a rag. Then I wetted it with some clean, refreshing water from the pump and used it to gently dab his forehead with it. He groaned, feeling the cool water on his forehead, even daring to lick at the dirty, bloody water droplets rolling down his face.
Hawke worked with great haste in order to undo the tightly tied bindings, which were emitting an unpleasant odor.
I coughed.
“Delilah, step back.” Hawke ripped the bindings and raced to the other side of the room to throw them out the door.
“Valerian,” Bram said, as I helped him straighten himself in the chair. “Not normally poisonous for my species, but in my weakened state, it certainly kept me tired and weak. Over time, I could have slipped into a coma.”
Bram’s hooded eyes were becoming more alert, and his heart was gradually getting stronger.
“I’m going to be just fine. I’m not that old.” He waved his hand as I tried to help him from the chair.
I raised an eyebrow, putting my hands on my hips.
