“Hey, you gonna clean that up, Ares?” Aphrodite raised a brow and her red fingernail pointing at the mess of the floor.
“Nope.”
If I thought watching Ares masturbating in front of me was weird and embarrassing, I was mistaken.
Ares tapped the pad of the computer, pulling up a GIF on his PowerPoint. It was a male thrusting into a female at an odd angle. I groaned, curling up and covering my eyes with my hands.
“You see that, Poseidon? This angle will hit the g-spot perfectly. You gotta tilt your hips, push in deep, it depends how big your cock is, but the deeper the better, anyway.”
Aphrodite tsked. “You think it’s all about your dick don’t you? Are you sure you know how to pleasure your mate? You could be flicking her clit while you do that and give twice as much stimulation for her.”
“I know what I’m doing,” Ares growled. “You should know, you were screaming for more of it after you came three times in our last encounter.”
“Who said I came?” Aphrodite smirked. “Maybe I was just begging you to hurry it up, and I had a hair appointment.”
This was much worse.
Ares and Aphrodite argued for over an hour about how to touch, lick, squeeze, smack, and taste a clitoris. I couldn’t pay attention to any of it.
They argued continuously until Zeus reappeared from his room. He groaned at the noise and took a seat beside me. They continued to argue, not acknowledging Zeus.
“Come with me, brother. Let’s go for a walk.” Zeus nodded to the door.
Without hesitation, I followed him out the sliding glass door, Aphrodite smirked as I took one last look behind me as she continued to rile Ares.
Their relationship was curious, but I didn’t have the energy to pull apart the pieces of what it all entailed.
The moon was shining over the ocean; the reflection beamed off the water and lit up the beach. The resort was noisy with lights, a band playing at the bar, and couples laughing in a nearby pool.
Zeus led us away from the resort and down the beach. As we strolled further away, the sounds of the resort dimmed, and the lights began to fade. As I relaxed, I felt the tension leaving my body and my mind becoming clearer, and I knew I was back to being myself.
The hustle and bustle of the land really drained me. My time spent in the ocean with Lani was refreshing. She enjoyed the quietness of the ocean as much as I did, and best of all, she shared a curiosity about how things worked. Just as I did.
Lani wanted to go to college for marine biology, to travel to the depths where no human had gone before. If she only knew just how much closer her dreams were to coming true. She would learn all I knew and wouldn’t have to study in a human institution that didn’t know the full depths of ocean.
The sea was icy and vast, but when she was by my side, I knew even the darkest depths would be illuminated by her warmth.
“You’ve really progressed, brother. I hope you know how proud I am of you. I was worried,” Zeus said, interrupting my thoughts. “I never thought you’d come this far.”
“Yeah, me either.”
As we walked down the beach, we noticed a small, isolated house tucked away between the swaying palms. The only thing that broke the darkness was the single light, casting a warm glow across the house.
“What’s it like?” Zeus asked as we stopped by the shoreline, he gentle waves continuously advancing and receding over the shore, water lapping at our feet.
I turned to Zeus, arching an eyebrow. “What do you mean?”
“Meeting your mate?” He stared at the small house. “Was it love at first sight? Was it the sparks? Her eyes? How did you know?”
I rolled my lips between my teeth, unsure how to answer. “At first, I smelled her. It was amplified by the ocean current. Then I touched her, and my body felt like it came alive for the first time.” I sighed, recalling the moment.
I would relive that moment for the rest of my days. The first person I held, who didn’t completely repulse me or make me feel uncomfortable. When I touched her, I felt…home.
The sound of Zeus's jaw grinding filled the air as he clenched his teeth.
“And then when she opened her eyes,” I continued, “it was like a piece of lightning piercing my heart. I knew I couldn’t stay away. Even when I told myself before I met her, I could never have her.”
Zeus’s lips parted, and he grabbed my arm. “You originally weren’t going to keep her? Claim her?”
