“Did you come to distract me so that Hermes could take her from me?” I glared at her with no hint of sympathy in my eyes. If she had any part of this, I would throw her in the palace dungeon until my mate’s safe return. Even then, she would not be let off so easily.
“I would never!” she grabbed her chest. “I would never do that to you, Poseidon.”
Sensing her truthfulness, I gazed into the throne room; it was quickly filling with soldiers. They bore steel armor painted in golds, whites, and silvers, all matching their humanistic form. They could fight on the sand, but going much further into the mainland would be dangerous. Their two legs would only last an hour on land, and they needed to be near the sea to fight.
I wasn’t planning on going to war against the humans, just the god or gods that dared to take my mate. Either way, I would make sure they paid. I would show them my strength. They would learn no one could take something from me without severe consequences.
I was not the weak god they all thought I was.
“Your queen has been taken!” I yelled into the massive throne room. The soldiers bowed their heads in submission, their fists gripping their spears. “She has not yet soul bonded with me. I do not have an exact location. Human bodies are fragile, and she has been taken by Hermes out of the Sea Kingdom. He can only take her to Earth.”
Growls and hisses filled the throne room.
“I do not believe Hermes will do her harm, but my time of staying beneath the surface to avoid confrontation is over! I have done you all a great disservice, and I am going to rectify that to you and to my mate!” I stepped down one step from my throne. “I’m going to prove it to all of them,” I muttered, but I knew they still heard me.
I looked to Silas. His nod of approval made me grip my spear.
“I will crush Hermes’s skull if she is not returned to me unharmed. I will raise the tides until I flush out what worthless piece of scum who dared take My Flower.”
The room grew silent, my heavy breathing the only sound.
“To the surface.” I raised my trident, and they all unanimously roared in approval as the waters of the deep surged around us. We would swim to the surface, storm the closest island since Hermes could not take a human far after rising from the depths. We would then punish whatever god had ordered Hermes to take her from me.
Chapter Thirty-Three
Lani
“Shit, begentle! She’sa human, not a fucking supernatural!”
I heard the muffled voices through the sheet.
I was naked as a newborn baby, wrapped up in silk sheets, and the last thing I was worried about were a few bruises. Sure, I was a little more open with nakedness, but I didn’t need my pussy falling out for a crowd when I was set down.
I woke up somewhere between a whooshing noise and a door opening and closing. My head throbbed, I was insanely dizzy, and I had no idea where I was. But I knew one thing.
I was going to kick someone in their balls.
I hung perfectly still in the make-shift bedsheet satchel I was carried in. Then when I felt my body being lowered, I kicked through the sheet at the perfect spot because I heard an ear-piercing scream and a thud.
I pushed away the sheet, stumbling out of it and hitting the corner of my head on the coffee table. I was on all fours, my ass in the air, rubbing my temple.
“Oh shit, she’s naked! You didn’t take her while they were fucking, did you?”
I blinked several times before my blurry vision subsided, and I saw Zeus hovering over me.
He was wearing those obnoxious Hawaiian flowered swim trunks, his chest bare and his hair a mess. His ice-blue eyes blinked, and the hair on his head began to turn an icy white blonde.
“Zeus?” I squealed, pulling the sheet over my body. “The mother fucking Zeus?”
“Oh good, he’s told her,” Zeus sighed in relief. “That’s good. Now we don’t have to explain ourselves.”
I jumped from the floor, keeping a firm hold on the sheet. “Explain yourself? You just took me from Poseidon’s home, and you don’t think you should explain? What the hell? What is going on?”
The slender man on the floor rolled around, holding his balls. “My mate won’t get the children she wants now! Oh, fuck! They are throbbing!”
Laughing at the man would be the proper response, but there was another mystery to be solved. Zeus was Poseidon’s friend, brother even, and he’d ordered someone to take me!
“Who the hell is that?” I pointed to the blonde, curly haired male. He was obviously a deity of some kind, but what kind?
