"I just might. I was planning to kiss you senseless, but I seem to be otherwise occupied," he said, his eyes sliding to his lap as he petted Greta's head.

I couldn't believe my familiar was cockblocking me. Wasn't she supposed toassistme? Why was she making my life harder?

"Hey, Greta. It's raining outside. Don't you wanna watch it from your window?"

Greta raised her head and peered at me through barely open eyes, then laid her head back down and did the lip-smacking thing again.

I hadn't exactly had a plan when I'd suggested coming to Levi's, but now that I was sitting here on his bed, in his clothes, I realized I wanted to be close to him.

Not just physically, but in every way possible.

I gave Greta a few more pets, then carefully picked her up and placed her on a pillow at the head of Levi's bed. The fur already on it told me it was Greta's pillow, as did the way she immediately snuggled into it.

When I turned to look at Levi, he was watching me with a small smile.

He crooked a finger at me, and I walked to the foot of the bed, then returned to my spot beside him, pulling one leg up on the mattress so I was facing him.

Levi turned to face me as he cupped my face in his hand, his eyes searching mine as he leaned closer.

I hummed as his lips brushed mine, and dropped my hand to his chest, then slid it under his t-shirt so I could feel his warm skin against my palm.

Levi pushed forward, and I fell back onto the mattress, pulling him with me before he could back away. His body enveloped mine, cocooning me in warmth and safety as his lips slid against mine, as his tongue teased at them until I opened for him.

I moaned as he slid his tongue against mine, pulling him closer until I could feel his hardness against my abdomen. Levi was hard because of me.

A part of me, the young kid who'd had a crush on Levi all those years ago, couldn't believe I was here right now, under Levi with his erection pressing against me and his tongue in my mouth. All of this felt like something out of a dream, one of the rare good ones I had.

Levi pulled back, his blue eyes dark with desire as he gazed down at me, and I bucked up into him, pressing my own erection against his ass.

"Don't stop," I murmured, and he groaned, then leaned down to kiss the corner of my mouth.

"I'm only gonna ask this once because I need to know: are you sure?"

"Yes," I said with no doubt in my mind.

Levi was my mate, and over the last few weeks, I'd gotten to know him again. I'd remembered all of the good things I'd forgotten about him, and I'd learned of more.

Before I'd found out he was my mate, I'd worried I would be a failure. I'd thought I wouldn't be able to trust whoever I ended up being mated to, that I would always keep up a wall between us because I didn't know how to take it down.

Maybe that was why Fate had paired me with someone I'd already let down my walls for. She'd known I would never be able to trust a stranger, so she'd bonded me with someone who wasn't a stranger at all.

"I adore you, Finn," Levi murmured as he pulled me into another kiss, and I held him close, hoping he knew I felt the same.

As Levi kissed me, his hand slid down my body, then reached under my t-shirt. He tugged at my nipple, making me gasp into the kiss as a surge of pleasure-pain washed through me.

Sex for me had always been about reaching climax. A biological need to be fulfilled and nothing more. It had never involved emotions. It had never felt like this, and we were just getting started.

Levi pulled back, then sat upright as I panted, my eyes roaming over his face as he reached for his t-shirt and pulled it off in one smooth move. I feasted my eyes on his broad shoulders, on his pecs, on his well-defined abs, and couldn't help reaching up to touch them.

He hummed as I traced my fingers over his skin, then reached for my t-shirt. Instead of pulling it off, though, he rucked up under my arms, revealing my chest but leaving it on.

"I like you in my shirt," he said by way of explanation, and I felt my cheeks heat up. "Can I take your glasses off?"
