Kai shrugged and pointed to her belly.

“Speaking of the landing, would you like to fly with me at sunset?”Aodh waited for her to sit before he claimed the seat beside her.

Flying?Kai stared at him in surprise.

Yes, flying.

But how?She was apprehensive. She knew that before the Great Catastrophes, there had been all types of modes of transportation by air, and both her parents had flown in planes many times. However, she had never been off the ground.

The Mckenna will take care of you.

She trusted Aodh’s dragon.“Then I can’t wait to try it.”

He watched Morlie walking with Bleddyn’s mates, escorted by Faolan, the Fang Warrior, who scanned the surroundings consistently as he led the trio away.

“The audacity of Minsi,” Chanin snarled and headed in the opposite direction.

“Calm down, Alpha. It will not do for you to lose your head over the overzealous actions of an angry she-wolf.”Bleddyn and Boris strutted beside him.

Chanin halted and aimed a look at his second-in-command.“Overzealous.When a fan runs onto the field and leaps into their idol’s arms, you say that. Not when she attacked my mate. Her Alpha.”

“Her lover,” Bleddyn reminded him.

Shaking his head, Chanin started again.“Ex-lover.And you know as well as I do that Pack law would back my actions had I ripped her throat out.”

“Then why didn’t you?”This challenge came from Boris.

A growl came out as Chanin eyed his security leader.“Because Minsi is a damn strong Alpha and an asset to the Pack.”He shook his head.“I’d rather bring her to heel than end her.”

It was the truth; Minsi’s tenacity and loyalty attracted him to her and urged him to take her on as a lover. The female was fearless and as bold as a male wolf and had bested a few in hand-to-hand combat.

“This is true,” Boris declared.“Then what will you do about her once she returns?”

“If she returns.”Chanin saw the look in her gaze; more hurt radiated in her eyes than anger. However, he didn’t owe her any leniency or explanation, and he was her fucking Alpha.Minsi knew he had found his mate, even if it had been a shock to the Alpha female that Morlie had shown up in the Pack.

“Oh, she will,” it was Bleddyn who commented.“She’s pissed beyond reason at this moment, but she is loyal to this Pack, loyal to you, Alpha.”

“Bleddyn, what you say is true. However, her actions cannot go unpunished.Thankfully, only a few witnessed her attack on your mate, but word will spread among the Pack. She must be dealt with definitively.”

Chanin allowed the conversation to rest for a moment.Replying to the volatile and unexpected situation between Morlie and Minsi affirmed that he must claim Morlie sooner rather than later.Once he handled the Valko issue.

“On the matter of Valko, even if he doesn’t give us any conclusive information about Farkas’s whereabouts or plans, we must double our efforts.”

Boris gave a sharp nod as he led them into a small warehouse beyond the field at the edge of town.“We’re on the same page, Alpha.I’ve already radioed my team for a meeting tonight to discuss that.”

“Good.”Chanin grabbed the handle as he approached the wide, thick metal door.A rusty-orange metal sat caked around parts of the handle, and when he lifted the locking rod to slide it up out of the groove it rested in to keep the heavy door shut, it grated and squealed.Chanin gritted his teeth at the rough, high-piercing sound but found solace in knowing the warehouse held an enemy of his Pack inside.

Lupines were strong, invincible to most things, but even their Were ability couldn’t break through a shipping container wall, especially not one with welded double sides as Boris instructed the construction team to do years ago when Chanin took over and pulled him into his leadership.Boris had the foresight back then when he’d watched some of Farkas's behavior when he lost the fight for the Alpha position.

To Chanin, that astuteness always confirmed he’d selected right when he chose Boris for his security leader position.

Chanin couldn’t wait until he had his cousin inside these walls, making him pay for terrorizing the Pack members for so many years. Then he would end him.Chanin didn’t even feel wrong about what he would do to a member of his own family.

He swung the immense door open and walked in.His eyes adjusted quickly to the darkness that took up most of the warehouse. It was relatively empty except for a long table that held several instruments, and a yard away from the table in the middle of the space sat one lone man in one lone chair below a single light hanging from above.

A heavy thud filled the space as one of the two men behind him closed the door.
