Page 67 of Hiding Secrets

“You have a shower in your study?”

I chuckle, “No, my study is connected to my room and my room has its own bathroom. Want to use it?”

She looks down the hallway to Kameron’s room and then back at me, “Sure, let me grab some clothes first.”

She rushes down the hallway, returning to the study quickly with all of her stuff in hand.

I walk her to my bedroom. This is the first time she’s been in here. She’s been in my office plenty of times before, but this space…felt more personal. She glances around the room as she follows next to me. I silently thank my cleaning habits because my room is always spotless. At least she knows I’m not a messy slob. I show her to the bathroom, grabbing a towel from the small linen closet.

“You can use anything you need. I'll just be in my study. If you need anything else, just yell for me.”

“Thank you.”

I lean in and place a kiss on her cheek, not able to help myself from touching her somehow. She has no idea the pull she has on me.

“I’ll leave you to it.” I say before walking out of the bathroom.

I return to my study and scan through emails, replying to as many as I can to distract myself from the fact that Elliott is naked and wet just on the other side of this wall.

Just then my phone goes off and I see it’s my assistant, Kelly, calling. I answer it and she goes on about how I need to come into the office soon for face-to-face meetings with companies.

“I get it. I’ll try my best to get there soon.”

“Soon? Your soon would be never, sir.”

“I’ll make it happen.”

“I need a real timeframe here, Mr. Sinclair.”

“Mark it down for three weeks from now.”

“Three weeks? Sir, that’s too far away.”

“Says who?”

“Says–” The rest of Kelly’s words become muffled as Elliott emerges from the room with her hair wrapped in a towel and her legs on full display in those fucking pajama shorts she loves to wear. These are a pale green color that reminds me of mint chocolate chip ice cream, and unlike the other fuzzy pair she wore before, these are silky.

I drag my eyes from her legs to her face in a slow motion, landing on her eyes as she takes a deep breath in.

“Kelly, I’m gonna have to call you back.” My gaze still locked on Elliott’s ocean eyes.

“Sir, ple–”

I end the call before she can try to get me to agree to come to the office any sooner than I am actually able to.

“Feel better?” I ask Elliott, as I come around my desk and rest against it, facing her now.

“Much.” She smiles at me, “Who’s Kelly?” She picks at her fingers like she’s ashamed to even ask me.

I grin and extend my hand to her, “Kelly is my assistant at HKM, our company.” She takes my hand and steps closer.

“Oh,” is all she replies with. “I didn’t mean to stop your conversation.”

“I’m glad you did.” I pull her hips to meet mine, “She was trying to get me to leave the house.”

“Do they need you?”

“In the office? No. I mean, some people like to still have face-to-face conferences but it's not needed. Especially when I’m on a mission.”
