I swallowed as an unnamed emotion clawed at my throat. “I’m yours?”
“If you want to be.”
Hell yes, I wanted to be.
Head aching, I rolled onto Don, and he kept his hands at his sides, although his tail tightened around my ankle. “You are mine.”
Don’s expression turned utterly serious as he said, “I am yours, Vince. No one else’s. Completely and utterly yours.”
Grinning, I settled on his chest and closed my eyes. Hangover be damned. I was happy as could be. Don was mine for as long as I wanted to keep him.
Chapter 28
The best cure to a hangover.
Everything fucking hurt. I didn’t even want to breathe, and Don was the only good thing in the hangover crapstorm that made me want to vomit and question whether I was a good person or not.
He didn’t say anything about my roiling emotions and gently stroked my back or occasionally planted kisses on my head.
“You have duty on Command,” I told him, clutching him. I sure as hell didn’t want Don to leave, but at the same time, he was the captain of this ship and couldn’t neglect his duty because hisspecialfriend wasn’t feeling well.
“I asked Bimwoxcol to take over Command today.”
“Donny, you can’t do that.”
“I can and did. You are ill.”
I wasn’t ill. I was currently suffering from the consequences of poor decisions and a lack of respect for alcohol. But sure, that was the same thing.
“You need to drink some water and perhaps eat something.” Don moved out of my embrace and brought me another glass of water and a piece of flatbread.
Neither sounded appetizing to my rolling stomach. I sat up with a groan, though the sight of Don’s generous shirt gathered around my much slighter form made me smile. I inhaled the fabric, then looked up, blushing.
Don was watching me with a possessive grin.
“Thanks,” I squeaked as I took the water and food. I nibbled on the soft bread, ignoring Don, which was basically impossible.
“I like you in my clothes,” he whispered close to my ear, setting my face even more aflame. I was fucking blushing. What the hell was he doing to me? “Even more, I like thatyoulike wearing my clothes.”
Now my face was an inferno. Perfect.
Keeping my eyes in front of me, I tried to drink the water and eat the bread. From past experience, a bit of food, water, and maybe some painkillers and I’d be right as rain. When I finished, Don whisked the cup away before settling beside me again. I curled next to his side, pressing my face into him to drown out the light.
His claws scraped at my scalp. “I can turn off all of the lights if you need, my Vince.”
“I’m fine.” I was as long as I kept my eyes closed and buried against him. Besides, I hated the thought of the world being dark around me. I couldn’t even stand the possibility of it.
As time passed, the water and food combo dulled my headache, but I felt no urge to move. None at all. Snuggling against Don was one of the best feelings in the world.
Don suddenly moved, and I groaned in protest. He kissed the top of my head and said, “I know. Someone is pinging me. Hold on.”
I didn’t care who was fucking pinging him. If it wasn’t an emergency, I wanted to hog all of Don’s free time.
He dropped the touchstone, and his lips found mine. I returned the kiss with a groan, rolling on top of him; I did better when I was in control. Don didn’t fight the move. His wings sprawled under him and his tail curled around my leg.
The kiss turned hot as I pushed my tongue into his mouth and swiped along his scaled one. I groaned at the feel. Someday, I would feel it on my cock.
“Anytime you want,” he said, breathlessly.
