Anthony nudged Tabitha’s shoulder. “Yeah, it wouldn’t look good to put the client on her ass with broken bones.”
Tabitha grinned. “No, it really wouldn’t. I thought it would be more exciting guarding a movie star. It’s actually boring. I hope getting to watch the behind-the-scenes while they’re shooting the film will be better.” She downed the rest of her beer and let out a loud belch.
“She’s like Trinity, isn’t she?”
Anthony chuckled. “They do have manners. Sometimes.”
“Who?” Tabitha asked, confused.
“Elle compared you to Trinity after you belched like a drunken sailor.”
“Oh! Y’all can speak with your minds? That’s so cool. Speaking of cool, I saw the drawing Connor left. Do you know what it means?”
Anthony explained everything that happened since the last time he spoke to his twin.
“What’s up with all the ravens though?”
“Elle befriended a raven when she was younger. She called him Novus, and she used him to send a warning to her sister back when the dark fae were going to attack the dragons. It’s possible she has an affinity for all ravens, not just that one.”
“I still can’t believe dragons are real. I thought Gryphons were the coolest shifters there are other than the hybrids, but dragons.” Tabitha hummed wistfully.
“Who knows? Maybe one of them will be your mate.”
Instead of agreeing, Tabitha jumped to her feet. “I’m going to eat.”
“What was that about?”
“I’m not sure.” Anthony nuzzled Elle’s hair. “Are you thirsty? Comfortable? Need to pee?”
“No, yes, and no. Aren’t you hungry? I don’t mind if you eat with your parents.”
“I don’t want to eat in front of you.”
“You can’t starve yourself, Tony. Besides, whatever Lilly put in the tea she made me not only helped with the pain, but it filled me up.”
“I’ll eat after everyone else is finished.”
“Why? Are you embarrassed that I’m stuck like this?”
Anthony squeezed his eyes shut and pushed all his love through the bond. “No, Sweetheart. I could never be embarrassed by you, especially for something that isn’t your fault. I just thought you might want privacy when I ‘feed’ you your tea and water. I don’t want you to be embarrassed.”
“You’re too sweet, and I love you for it. Having someone carry me to the bathroom? That’s another story.”
Tabitha came back outside, holding a phone. “Brent wants to talk to you.”
“Brent? Hey, I’m putting you on speaker so Elle can hear.”
“Hey, you two. There’s someone who thinks they can remove the sigil.”
“Really? That’s great news! When can they be here?”
“Here’s the thing. When he told Yari who he was, she didn’t believe him, and she drew her sword on him. The male disappeared.”
“Disappeared? Like went into hiding?”
“No. Like vanished into thin air.”
Normally, Anthony wouldn’t think that was possible, but Elle could do it by calling on the shadows. Maybe this was a fae with the same abilities. “Why didn’t she believe him?”
