Page 123 of A Dash of You

This other guy is tall like Logan and clearly takes care of himself as well. His dark hair is perfectly styled, almost like Crew's, though Crew has more edge.

I confirm my suspicions that he belongs to a club when I clock his MC vest draped over top of his T-shirt.

He and Logan shake hands, his focus landing on me. “I can see why you were willing to risk everything.”

I swallow, taking a glance at Logan. What did that mean, exactly?

“I’m glad to tell you in person how much I appreciate your help in all this, but if you don’t mind, I’m going to take my woman inside.”

The man reaches for my hand and Logan deeply sighs next to me. “Name’s Spencer.”

“I’m Sora. I guess I should be thanking you too, since I’m assuming you had something to do with me being here,” I say, guessing from Logan’s words. If this man did aid in my rescue, he deserves a thank you.

He smirks. “How’d you like the car?”

“Oh, it’s yours? It rides like a dream.”

“I can take you for a ride sometime—”

“Weren’t you leaving?” Logan challenges this Spencer guy.

He laughs. “Probably a good idea. Shouldn’t be here. It was nice meeting you, Sora.”

Just before he takes off, Lana comes bolting outside our duplex. I barely have time to brace for the impact as she barrels into me, wrapping her petite arms around my back.

“Never.Ever.Do that to me again. I thought I’d lost you,” she whispers as she weeps into my shoulder.

I hug her back, having the same emotion. “I’m so sorry. It’ll never happen again.”

She pulls away, studying my serious expression. “So that’s it then. It’s over?”

“Yes,” Logan answers before I can.

“Thank God.” Lana’s shoulders release the tension they were holding.

“Sora,” Crew says my name, walking from Logan’s doorway to join the reunion. “I’m glad to be seeing you again.”

I huff out a breath. “Me too.”

A cat-calling whistle sounds from our left. “If all the women in town look like them, maybe I should move here, too.” Spencer throws a charming smile Lana’s way, but she holds firm with a distinct loathing expression clear as day.

Okay. That’s odd.

According to his leather cut, his club is in the city outside of town. So not too far from us. Which isn’t exactly comforting. It’s the same club Logan was once involved in, the one Crew, unfortunately, is still a part of.

“I thought you were leaving.” Crew’s tight expression locks on him.

“Right. Guess I’m off then.” Swinging his leg over his motorcycle seat, he says, “I’ll be sending someone over to pick up my car. And Crew… I’ll be seeing you.” He nods, him and Crew exchange glances before he takes off, leaving the sound of thundering pipes behind.

“Wait. Were you next door this whole time?” Lana asks, focusing on Crew.

“I was. But since everything is right in the world again, I’ll be leaving. Glad you’re okay, Sora.”

“Thank you. For all your help.”

With a nod, he heads off.

“God. I’m so happy you’re okay.”
