I stared at her for a few seconds before I realized she was giving me permission to lick her shoulder. My body immediately went into overdrive.
Despite the scales, she noticed, and glared. “Only a lick,” she stated firmly. “To stop the bleeding.”
I moved closer, and she tensed. Rotated until her back was to me, and offered her shoulder.
She flinched when I laid a hand on it. Then I lowered my mouth to the bleeding holes.
I didn’t imagine the shiver that ran through her, because it radiated through me, too. Her blood was hot and salty on my lips as I licked along the wounds. Her pulling away had torn the skin around the bite, and I traced the edges with my tongue.
Almost immediately, the blood flow halted. But I kept licking. Couldn’t pull myself away from her taste, from her scent.
“Has it stopped?” her voice was hardly more than a whisper.
I hesitated, and she stepped away. I let her go, with the strangest sensation of something being ripped away from me.
When her eyes met mine, they widened. “There is something inside you,” she said. “Something more than a Dragon.”
“A monster,” I agreed.
She tilted her head. “That isn’t what I see,” she said.
I didn’t have an answer for that. I backed away, and my foot caught on something lying on the grass. Marcus’s cloak. It was torn, wet, filthy, and smelly, but I picked it up and offered it to her.
She grabbed it and slipped it on. It had holes in interesting places, but she twisted it around until it covered the basics. I liked the bit of ass that still showed.
I seriously needed to get a grip.
As I turned away, something dark flashed across the moon.

My shoulder still ached, but the pain was only a dull throb now. With every swipe of his hot tongue, it lessened.
My body still trembled from the power of what had happened between us. It was nothing compared to what went on within my mind.
I’d fucked Havoc.
And much as I’d like to blame the Dragon pheromones, I knew better. What had happened between us as humans had no connection to what had happened in the sky.
I’d wanted him. Still did. As his tongue had stroked my wound, it had also reawakened the ache within me. As if we hadn’t just fucked like rabbits beneath the moon.
Three. Fate had given me three.
Now, in the aftermath, my heart twisted. I didn’t doubt the three, but I needed time. Time for me, and time for Marcus, to figure it out, too. Because surely Fate didn’t speak to just one of us.
That would be grossly unfair.
But then, life was rarely fair. And I was pretty damn certain that Marcus would view this as a betrayal. Didn’t think he was into the group thing.
How the hell was I going to explain this? I could hide it, pretend it hadn’t happened. Except the damned Dragon hadbittenme. Pretty difficult to hide turning into a Dragon.
Havoc had his back to me, staring up into the sky. “Have you regained your strength?” he asked.
I frowned. “Sort of.” It was a strange question.
“Can you Jump, I mean.” There was an urgent note in his voice.
