Both men grew very still and stared at me. Judging by the dicks pointing my way, I got the impression my comment had been deliberately misconstrued.
“I am amending my earlier statement. Neither of you are allowed to look at me at all. Okay?”
Havoc cocked a brow. “And if we do?”
“If you value your rather obvious physical assets, I would suggest you follow orders. Or when we Jump, I will leave bits behind.”
The second brow joined the first. “You can do that?”
“I will most certainly try.”
Marcus snorted a laugh and stood up. Which brought some of those assets into delicious view. I wasn’t about to tell him that I wouldn’t sacrifice them for anything.
“What holds for us, does for you,” he stated, his lips twitching into a familiar half-smile. “Let’s eat.”

Marcus
Huddling around the slowly cooling stones, we ate our meal.
Riley had insisted we not look at her, but it was a taller order than she knew. Because she smelled like sin itself.
The freking Dragon was avoiding looking at either of us, but I saw the way his nostrils kept flaring. There was no mistaking the reaction of his body. His coverage may be more accomplished, but it didn’t leave much to the imagination.
His attraction to Riley was driving me even more wild than her scent. Iskar had his hands full. As I bit off hunks of supper, dark scales erupted and vanished in waves across my forearms. The weather wasn’t helping my mood—fresh clouds covered the moonlight, and the drizzle had returned.
Just stop sniffing her,Iskar growled.
I’m not sniffing her!
You bloody well are. Every time you inhale, I’m doing damage control.
I moved closer to a tree trunk, putting a few more feet between me, and where Riley sat. The rain drizzled onto me, and I shivered. A bit more fur grew, and I even resorted to adding feathers on my shoulders. Surprisingly, they kept the rain off better than the fur on my chest and abs.
Feathers have their uses.Iskar sounded a bit smug.
I chewed for a while, before saying,It’s getting worse, isn’t it?
His mental sigh drifted through my mind.Your potential mate is turning into a Dragona on cycle, and your beast isn’t the only one interested. I’d say it has reason.
My heart twisted.I can’t even be within a few feet of her. Unless I get this thing under control, we don’t stand a chance.
When he didn’t immediately reply, the food I’d just swallowed turned to lead in my stomach.
If we don’t learn how to control this thing, it won’t be just Riley at risk. The old Gryphon sounded grim.We need a Watcher. Together, we can help you attain control.
Watchers seem a little scarce out here in the boonies.
This Witch could very well be one.
Sitting beneath a tree with damp purple feathers and a demon pushing at me to—to what? To grab Riley and fuck her against a tree?
Even the thought was enough to send more scales scudding over my arms, and Iskar cursed as he hurried to lock it down.
The crystal dust helped. Unless that Witch was a Watcher, however, my time was running out.
Riley shot me a look, which I studiously ignored. Because she was a future I couldn’t begin to contemplate, unless I tamed what lay inside me.
