Demeti no longer defined him. Ash felt as though he’d sprouted his spiritual Dragon wings, and soared.
Tyrez licked Ash’s wrist wounds, and the beautiful gleaming eyes rolled to meet that of his soul bond’s.
“Thank you,” Ash whispered.
Tyrez released the wrist. “You are my future.”
The sexy voice, and the promise, reverberated through Ash. Tyrez moved to sit next to him, and raised trembling fingers to push the damp golden hair back from his face.
“I’ve never seen you shake,”Ash noted.
“It is a rare thing,” Tyrez conceded. “Perhaps I’m bonded to a succubus.”
Ash had no points of reference for that comment. “Succubi make you shake?”
“They deprive you of your life essence through sex. How can I feel so drained, and yet so full?” He traced Ash’s jaw with an unsteady finger. “You are a conundrum.”
“Likely better than a succubus. Or a Yoda.”
The big Dragon shifter huffed a laugh. “What does a Jedi Master have to do with it?”
“What’s a Jedi Master?”
Tyrez buried his fingers in Ash’s hair, pulling him gently into him. “We still have ground to cover, it would seem.” He rested his lips against Ash’s forehead and left them there.

The link was alive with images that Dani struggled to suppress as she manipulated a load of dirt into the air and toward the trench.
The ripple of muscle over smooth skin. A glimpse of a tattoo, running along a spine, the tail disappearing between rounded buttocks, then continuing . . .
She blinked and shoved the images away. But when Tyrez kissed Ash, her knees shook, and she almost dropped the entire load of soil on top of Cody.
Dani caught it just in time and carried it to the trench. The Sabre brushed small stones off his shoulders and shot her a look.
“Maybe it’s time for you to take a break,” he suggested. “I’ve been buried by you before.”
She barely heard him. Images of Ash being brutalized by Demeti flashed through her mind. And then Tyrez’s sexy voice reverberated through her.
I will never. Never. Hurt you like that. You must believe me.
“Dani? Are you okay?”
She blinked at Cody, who now stared at her with raised brows. He was in human form and so covered in dirt that you could barely see the clothes beneath it all.
In truth, she barely saw him at all. In her mind, she sensed Ash’s torment. And Tyrez’s frustration as she suppressed what his body was clamoring at him to complete.
Longing and heat flushed through Dani, coalescing in deep ache that pulsed through her core. Cody’s eyes widened, and he raised his head as though scenting the air.
“Um... I have to go.” Her voice squeaked.
His eyes glowed copper. “Yes. Perhaps that would be best.”
She turned and bolted for the ground entrance to the tunnels, pushed her way past Dires milling near the entrance, and ducked down the first deserted tunnel she could find. Where she leaned against the cool stone and then dropped to the floor.
Tyrez was everything she’d dreamed he’d be. Powerful, and yet so gentle. Passionate, and yet controlled.
His vow that he would never hurt Ash reached deep into her heart because the link between them was wide open. She sensed his honesty and the depths of his love, unquestioned.
