We walkedoutside the building to where the doorman had his car waiting. This was the first time I had seen it in broad daylight and I had to admit it was pretty impressive. The long, sleek, glossy black body seemed to match Chase’s personality to a T.

As we climbed in, I sank into the black leather upholstery and appreciated the dark wood accents on the steering wheel and dashboard. I wasn’t what you would consider a ‘car person’, but there wasn’t anything about this man that didn’t fascinate me.

The traffic was lighter than usual and we arrived at my apartment twenty minutes later. I flipped the visor down and took an inventory of the damage I had caused last night. The evening had not been kind to me, and I wanted to make myself presentable.

“Would you mind if I took a quick shower? It won’t take long. I promise.”

“Not at all. I can sit here and return a few emails while I’m waiting.”

He pulled his phone from his pocket and started scrolling through the messages.

“You don’t have to sit out here, silly. Why don’t you come inside and work while you wait? I even offer free Wi-Fi.” I said stepping out of the car and headed towards the entrance of my building.

I held the front door open gesturing for him to follow. I waited while he parked the car in the loading zone and put his flashers on. The chirp of the security system soon followed as he locked the doors and ran up to join me.

After a much needed shower, I threw on a white tank top, a pair of capris and my favorite pair of sandals. Not as sexy as the silver three inch heels, but they were wicked comfortable. Pulling my hair back into a ponytail I applied a little lip gloss and blush to make sure I looked good.

I breezed into the living room and I swear my breath caught at the sight of him sitting on the sofa drinking a cup of coffee and chatting with Cassie and Liam, who had obviously spent the night together. As soon as he saw me, his eyes lit up. My body soaked up the attention and I tried to mask my excitement.

He immediately stood up and took my hand. “You ready, beautiful?” He asked with genuine sincerity. I glanced over at Liam and saw the knowing smirk on his face as he and Chase communicated without words.

As we prepared to leave, Cassie walked up and whispered in my ear, “We are so having a conversation later.”

I smiled giving her a quick hug “I’m sure we will.”

Chase placed his hand on the small of my back, and guided me out of the apartment. “Are you ready to be to blown away?”

Smiling while closing the door behind me, I beamed up at him, because I just couldn’t help myself. “Lead the way.”
