“Hey man.” Sebastian grabs Noah’s shoulder. “Let’s get a drink.”

Noah nods and follows him into the crowd, but my eyes are fixed on Cassie, who is grinning wide.

“Neither of them drink,” I point out to her.

“Water?” She shrugs with forced innocence.

“You’re trying to get me alone to grill me,” I call her out.

Quinn slides into the booth on my other side and nudges my shoulder. “Of course, we are.”

“I’m surrounded by pink hair with no one to save me.” I shake my head at them.

The band has some press events this week for the new album, so Quinn is in town to coordinate the photo shoots and interviews. Since everyone was going to be in one place, Cassie timed her trip back from Seattle tocatch up.

“All right, Ms. Never Going to Happen, dish, now,” Cassie says as Sebastian swings back around and hands a drink to her.

Noah starts walking in my direction, but I shake my head at him to keep him away. There may be no saving myself from this inquisition, but it doesn’t mean I need to drag him under with me.

“It happened a few weeks ago.” I shrug a shoulder and take a sip of my drink.

“Oh, I know when it happened,” Cassie says. “And you are lucky I was headed back to Seattle the next morning. That’s the only reason you’ve been able to avoid this conversation as long as you have. So, spill. I don’t want your one-word text responses, I want details.”

I lift an eyebrow at her.

“Eww, okay, not too many details.”

I shake my head and laugh because she can be such a goody two-shoes.

Quinn nudges my shoulder. “I wouldn’t mind some of the details.” She winks at me, and it makes me burst out laughing.

“I’m sure you wouldn’t,” I tell her, setting my drink down. “And there’s not much to tell that you probably haven’t already heard. Noah and I are seeing each other.”

“Exclusively?”

“It’s Noah.” I lift an eyebrow. Regardless of the fuckboy he was before we started whatever it is he and I are doing, he’s not a guy who likes sharing—especially where I’m concerned. “Yes, we’re exclusive.”

“And…” Cassie prods my leg.

“And we’re seeing where it goes,” I say nonchalantly.

“I call bullshit,” Quinn pipes up. “You two have been like asteroids headed straight for each other for almost a year now. You’re not fooling anyone with this casual crap.”

I look from her to Cassie, and they are both shaking their heads at me.

“I’m not sure what you want me to say. Yes, we’re seeing each other. And yes, there are feelings there. But it’s still new, technically. It’s not like we’re getting married or anything.”

Although, knowing Noah, he probably already has those thoughts in his head.

It might be early, but things are already more serious than any relationship I’ve been in. I’m not sure how to define what Noah and I are to each other at this point, but casual is definitely understating things.

It’s all headfirst, especially considering what’s looming on the horizon.

When my doctor finally called me back, he wanted me to come in for an office visit. But after a long discussion, he decided it would be okay to push that out for a couple of weeks since the aches haven’t led to any abnormal bleeding.

Noah isn’t thrilled—to say the least. I’m pretty sure he was ready to ship me off on a private plane that day.

Luckily, he didn’t put up much of a fight either. I need him to trust me on how I handle this situation and what’s best for my body.
