Page 6 of Heart Break Her

“I could introduce you.” Merry wiggles her eyebrows at me.

“No way. I’m a nobody.” I wave a hand at her. “Besides, I’m pretty sure I saw him signing a pair of double Ds on the way out of the show. I wouldn’t be a blip on that man’s radar, whether he’s drunk or not.”

“Come on, we’re celebrating. You just graduated college. It’s a huge deal.”

Merry and I met in college, and even if we are very different people, we grew instantly close. Merry’s wild side gave her the unique ability to pull me out of my quiet and reserved bubble. And even if, at times, I was certain she was going to get both of us kicked out of school with her antics, being around her made the world feel bigger—made things feel possible.

But then she left to follow the band around the country, leaving me once again alone. She always outgrew every environment she put herself in, while I just got comfortable.

“You should have been up on stage getting your diploma with me.”

“Says you and my parents.” Merry frowns. “But that’s beside the point. Today is about you. Hot-as-sin college graduate on the prowl. What better way to pop yourI’m a woman who does what I pleasecherry than rolling around naked with Sebastian Kane?”

“First it was an introduction, and now we’re having sex?” I narrow my eyes at her, trying to hide the fact that my lady bits are begging me to take her up on it.

It’s been three weeks since Bryan and I broke up. Three weeks without even mediocre sex. If I let the humming between my legs make my decisions, I would have jumped Sebastian’s dick when he walked through the bar door, and that’s not like me at all.

I’m a good girl.

“Only if you want to.” Merry smiles at me because she knows I want to, even if I won’t. “I’m sure he’d oblige. Can’t say I’ve ever seen Sebastian turn down sex.”

“That argument is not having the impact you want it to.” I tip my glass at her.

“He’s a rock star.” She shrugs. “He has lots of sex. Gets even more blow jobs. These are facts, and I’m not going to lie to you.”

“Appreciated.”I think?“So, have you indulged?”

I grin and my eyes dart to where Merry’s eyes are watching Noah, who rakes his shoulder-length, blond hair off his face while a woman plants herself in his lap. He gives her ass a squeeze but then makes her get up.

Classy.

“Eww, gross. No way.” She grimaces. “But that’s only because I’m too close to the orgy circle, so I know better than to get involved with band members.”

“Now it’s an orgy?”

“Sometimes.” She nudges me. “Not that I think you’re ready for an orgy-filled post-college awakening. I’m just saying, Sebastian Kane has been your celebrity crush for as long as Enemy Muse has been around, and right now he’s sitting less than ten feet away.”

“Noted.”

“Electric Hearts is your ringtone, Cassie.”

“Because it’s a good song.”

“A great song. Sung by a sexy man. A man at the other end of the bar. Fuck him or don’t, not my business, but at least let me introduce you—oh.”

I look up and see his stool is now empty. Eloise has made her way over to the table with the rest of the band and is chatting up some girl sitting on Rome’s lap, but Sebastian is nowhere in sight.

“He’ll be back, and when he is, you’re saying hello,” Merry says with a nod.

I’d argue, but I’m distracted by an arm falling over the back of her chair.

“Mercedes,” Noah says, skimming Merry with his pale blue eyes.

She hates being called by her full name, and from the amused look on Noah’s face, he knows it.

He’s ditched the green leather jacket he was wearing when he walked in here and is showing off every rolling hill of lean muscle on his arms and chest in a thin white T-shirt. Noah twists a lock of Merry’s dyed hair around his finger, but she pushes his hand away.

“I like the purple.” He grins.
