“Clavas sawxelangrowing again,” Korben said, showing the Healer and the females Clavas’s message.
The Healer’s face went a pale shade of blue. “It must be connected to the sacred damas’s change. The very make-up of the minerals have healed.”
“What does all this mean?” Ki-ah asked, her eyes darting to Adhi and Sim-pony.
“We need to go there, investigate and find out,” Sah-ah said, stepping forward.
“We must find out why these females have such an effect on this landscape.”
“Why are you assuming it’s us and not the light?” Adhi said.
Sim-pony shook her head. “She has a point.”
Korben turned to Zar. “Clavas’s message was not the only reason I used an emergency summons.”
“Is there something else, terros?” Tiegan asked, a foreboding feeling in his heras.
“Yes.” Korben looked gaunt. “By now, all Plutonians have heard about human females being able to carry our young.”
“And?” Si-moon asked.
“All are not happy about this. The angry Plutonians… they want to start a war.”
Twenty-One
Symphony
Symphony’s body turned cold.“War. How did we get all the way to a war?”
Sara chewed on her bottom lip. “Korben, I don’t understand. I thought all the Plutonians would be ecstatic to hear they could have a new generation.”
“Me too.” Simone stepped forward. “In fact, a part of me was scared that the bad apples in the Plutonian camp would start kidnapping humans too…” Her voice trailed as her eyes hit the floor. “But why fight over this?”
Kia shook her head. “Are you sure you got the right intel?”
“These Plutonians believe mixing the bloodlines will, eventually, eradicate our species forever.”
Simone threw her hands up. “So they’re basically the Ungazi 2.0.”
“The Ungazi?” Adhi squinted.
Sara leaned over and whispered, “Extremely powerful, advanced and evil aliens who believe it’s their duty to roam the galaxy and destroy any planet that wants to commit inter-species breeding.”
Adhi’s jaw dropped.
Symphony’s head started to hurt. “You’re kidding me.” Her eyes flitted to Tiegan.
He gave her a comforting nod. “We have already eradicated their source. The mothership from which all Ungazi are controlled was destroyed.”
“By them andus,” Kia arched an eyebrow.
“Indeed, the females were an impressive help.” Pin wrapped his arms around Kia, his purple eyes narrowing on her. His blue muscles flexed as he pulled her closer. “Though they risked their lives after we begged them to stay in the safety of the camp.”
Kia lifted one shoulder in a shrug. “What can I say? Humans are stubborn.”
“True,” Zar said, slanting Si-Moon a knowing look.
She threw him a wink.
