“Good, because we have our hands full,” he says with a rumbling chuckle.
Pabu’s eyes still glow violet, and his fur is two-toned hairs, but his behavior is his happy-go-lucky self. I’m enjoying myself as long as I ignore the snarls and screams outside the door. When the last lamb is tied, I wait for instructions. I know Pabu allowed the tigers to rampage Alpha while baby Mina and the lambs distract me…but I’m not mad…I’m at peace with the end of my childhood home. Alpha’s hierarchy won’t terrorize anyone anymore.
“Are we trapped in here?”
“Darling, a God is never trapped,” he says with a masculine chuckle. “We are staying the night here though—at least you are. I’ll barricade all of you in your sister’s place for the night. Gather what you wish to take back to the temple, so there are no tears if the lambs shred the rest.”
You will kill them all, won’t you? Everyone who wronged me in my memories won’t see Saturn’s rise. We can leave with all the lambs in the morning because the tigers you let in will be overfed and sleeping. Am I a monster to feel relieved—that I would trade their lives to be free?
“My beautiful monster,” he growls. “Everyone has a light and dark side. My two halves integrated thanks to a force bigger than our two pieces.”
“What’s that?”
“Your love and acceptance,” he says with a lop-sided smile. “When the tiger was about to grab you, both of us agreed we would move Saturn to ensure your safety. We found balance in the agreement that your acceptance of both sides means we are meant to be as one.”
“Really?” I’m drawn into his embrace as the hopping lambs tie us together with their leashes. I tilt my chin as high as I can and close my eyes for his kiss.
“We agree that our wife and kids need to get home. It’s time for bed,” he replies before rubbing his fangs over my face.
I can’t help but laugh at the kiss of my possessed Yeti husband.
Epilogue
Jaya—four weeks later
“Yes, take what you can use,” I say to the Beta Village Gatekeeper, Franz. All three villages have sent their delegates to divide Pabu’s treasure hoard.
After Alpha’s fusion plant imploded and melted the abandoned buildings to the ground, these same delegates divided the remains. Pabu worked tirelessly to help them reuse Alpha’s outer wall planks to connect Gamma to Delta. The project to connect all three villages within one wall, with a large space for gatherings in the middle, is a massive undertaking. Pabu spends his days lifting pillars, digging their anchor holes, and carrying clay from the mines with the workers. I’ve never been so proud of his efforts. He tells the humans how the connecting walls resemble the construction projects of the original settlers.
“Are you sure? I’ve never seen gold before and there are piles of golden dishes,” Franz says with a severe frown. The delegates were skittish about entering the temple at first. Pushing them to take the riches is a struggle.
“Yes,” I say as brightly as possible when I’m stressed over their nervousness. Handling luxury triggers all my poverty issues. “Won’t they be festive as holiday serving dishes? We need the space to house our growing goat herd. Why keep treasure by our water source when baby animals drink more than precious metals?”
Franz shrugs his shoulders and laughs with me. His tension drains away while mine kicks up a notch. My hands itch to hoard our food and hide our lambs. Memories of waking to stolen cheese or clothes threaten to drown me. I want these people out of my house and away from my resources. They can have the trinkets. We can’t eat jewels. What if they take our fusion crystals by mistake? We will freeze! All the lambs will die!
Hush, my love. These people are more likely to feed you than to take food from your mouth. They wouldn’t take advantage of you. They don’t have malice in their character. Trust in them, in me, and in your healing.
With his authoritative words filling my mind, the spiraling worries stop. I take a deep breath to slow my racing heart. Pabu’s right. My healing has come a long way, but I’m not finished. I must trust the process—although I wish he managed this, and I had the upper body strength to build new walls. He answers that thought with a chuckle. My heart warms. Our connection means I’m never alone, helpless, or in danger. I have a partner in Pabu and support from the villages…if I allow them to help me.
As the jewels, golden artifacts, and books leave our home on sleds, happiness takes their place. The large, climate-controlled treasure room houses a different type of treasure—my loyal Ku Huang and her ginormous family. Watching them bounce around their mother is my greatest joy.
Hopefully not your greatest joy…I like to think I can bring you more pleasure than goats. Clean up, wife, and select a new treasure dress from our room. Your husband is on his way home to show you just how much pleasure he can give you.His voice fills my mind with dark promise, and I shiver in response. Pabu strong-armed me into keeping all the dresses to alter, transform, and wear. He kept his beloved paintings, too.
As I glide the soap ball over me, I send Pabu images of the lather coating my skin. My fingers squeeze my breasts and tease my nipples to aching points. When I’ve captured his attention, I watch the bubbles run over my curves and disappear into the water. My legs swish in blurred images which I know tantalize my Yeti. The answering growl in my mind brings giggles to my lips.
Rather than selecting a treasure dress from the pile in our bedroom, I snuggle between his lavish blankets.I love soft fur caressing my skin. I could spend a lifetime in your bed, surrounded by such comforts.
I gift them to you and more. Anything you want, my wife, just ask.
What I’m missing is the calloused hands of a male who has worked all day… Are you close to home? We only have so long before Mina wakes for her next feeding. I may have to leave this bed before you are finished with me.My taunts are answered with more growling.
“I’ll never be finished with you, Jaya,” he whispers from the doorway.
As he tiptoes to the bed, I throw off the covers. Goosebumps erupt where the cold air kisses my legs. I open my legs as wide as I can to show him how much I’ve missed him. My right leg hangs over the side of the bed. I resume teasing my nipples to coax more nectar from my vagina. His gaze darkens with each drip.
“I’m lonely, Pabu,” I whisper. Climbing onto the bed, he places a knee against my weeping entrance. My thighs clench to hold him in place.
“I smell your need, wife,” he replies as he nuzzles the space where my neck meets my shoulder. I drop my head back to give him better access.
