Smiling against her head, I brush my thumb up and down her thigh. I love that she wants to see my kids. Well, from today they will be classed as ours, just like Andrey sees them as his but he never takes over my role. He knows his place and I know that Mads will too.

“Let’s get you to the club, cleaned up and fixed, then we will see, okay.” She nods. “I know they will want to see you, baby; they love you like I do.”

“I love them, too.”

The rest of the drive to the club is quiet; Logan takes extra care driving so not to cause Mads any more pain. She drifts off to sleep, her body giving in to the exhaustion of what has happened.

She was only gone a few hours, but it felt like a lifetime to me. Every second she was gone, it felt like I would die without her.

I loved Ruth but never in the way that I do Madalyn— it was like she was fucking made for me. My heart and soul call to her and thank fuck, she called back.

CHAPTER THIRTY

MADALYN

It has been four weeks since I was taken by Crypt and shot. I am healed up, but still get aches and pains now and then.

Kohen has been with me the whole time, fussing over me, and making sure that every day he tells me that he loves me. His constant care and affection have been a sight to see. My man serving me breakfast in bed wearing just tight black boxer briefs is one of my favorites.

The nightmares have played their part in my recovery, but Kohen's presence beside me with his gentle whispers and heated body holding me, I come back from them and feel safe with him.

The club has become a safe haven, a place where I can rebuild myself, surrounded by those who genuinely care. A family. Both Aria and Grandpa Pete have loved being here, meeting the brothers, and they have taken to Aria, seeing her as a little sister.

The twins have been a source of laughs and giggles. Seeing the way Kohen interacts with them only deepens my affection for him. One day we will have our own baby, and I know that he will love him or her like he does Emmi and Rex.

He is not just my protector, he is my partner, the keeper of my heart.

As I look around at the family that is the club, I realize that this is what I've always wanted – a place to belong, people to love and be loved by. The club sees me as one of their own, I belong to not only Target but to the Rugged Skulls MC.

Ruth has also been around while I have been recovering, and it has been nice to have her here. Darian went crazy when I got home, wanting to kill anyone associated with Crypt’s club. I think the three of us have formed a good relationship, and it is one that I cannot wait to explore more. I love girly nights in, and they love girly nights out, so this will be fun.

“You okay, sis?” Aria asks me, a frown in place on her beautiful face.

Smiling warmly at her, I touch her arm. “I am amazing. not working has been driving me crazy so I cannot wait to get back to it. Darian and Kohen ganged up on me and made me take some time to recover, and if I am being honest with you, I am glad they did.”

“They only want what’s best for you. Like we all do.”

“I know.”

“I love it here, Maddi.” My sister looks around the back yard at the club and I smile.

The brothers are all plotted around, talking with a beer in hand. The club girls are trying to get their attention and if I am being honest, it is quite the show seeing them fail. Batting their eyelashes, pushing up their boobs to entice the men but all the men do is talk.

“Me too, sister. Me, too. I need to pee; I will be right back.”

“So, you need me to come with you?” Aria asks.

“I am okay to go to the restroom alone, honey. I will be fine, I am safe here,” I assure her.

She nods, then gets to her feet, walking over to where Ruth and Darian are getting some food.

Walking past the men, Kohen looks to me, a smile on his face, and his eyes light up when they see me.

“You good?” he mouths to me.

I nod and point to the door, indicating that I am going inside. With a chin lift, he goes back to talking to Savage and Racer.

Stepping inside, I let my eyes adjust to the dim lighting in here, which is a stark difference to the Phoenix sun outside. Forge is in the corner of the room getting a blowjob and winks at me as I pass.
