Kai: Yep, me and Miles are in. Where?

Flynn: Sorry guys. Still on Oahu. Me and Alana head to Cali tomoz. Catch up when we get back next week?

Me: Dude, EPIC surf at Pipe Masters on the weekend. Must have felt so good??

We only caught bits of the Pipe Masters during our weekend on Lanai, but we managed to see the finals, and both Sloane and I had been beyond excited when Flynn had placed second. Given the years he took off surfing after his accident, it was an epic comeback.

Alana getting another third place had made the whole thing even sweeter, and we’d sent them both a bunch of congratulatory texts.

Flynn: Yeah, was fucking awesome. Felt so good being back out there.

Me: I’ll bet.

Nate: Your board looked pretty sweet too

Flynn: 100%...anyway, gotta go, see you guys later.

Me: Later. Nate you up for a drink?

Nate: Sorry guys can’t, busy with Sage.

Kai: Hitting up the shower...again?

Nate:

Me: LOL, ok, just us then – I’ll swing by your place yeah...Daisy is over here.

Miles: Yes, come here.

I finish up my dinner, heading back inside to say goodbye. The girls are already in the living room, on the couch with Mochi between them as Daisy scrolls through the TV looking for the movie.

“I’m heading over to see Kai and Miles. Be back later,” I say, leaning over the back of the couch, my hand cradling Sloane’s chin. “You good?”

“Ah, found it!” Daisy squeals.

Sloane rolls her eyes, smiling as she says, “Yeah, I’m good.”

Chuckling, I drop a soft kiss on her lips. “Enjoy your movie, ladies. Babe, I’ll give you the real thing when I get home, okay?” I tease, giving her a wink as I stand.

Daisy bursts out laughing as Sloane smiles, shaking her head at me.

I walk over to the house Miles and Kai share, which is only a block away from our place. I don’t bother knocking as I walk in to find the two of them on the couch, a beer already waiting for me.

“Boys,” I say, slapping the hand they both hold up as I grab the beer and flop onto the couch.

“Dude, what’s up? How was your dirty weekend away?” Kai asks, a huge grin on his face.

Chuckling, I shake my head as I take a long pull of my beer. “Weekend was awesome.”

Kai laughs. “So what, you guys are together now?”

“We were together before we went away,” I tell him.

He smirks now as he glances over at his brother before turning back to me. “But you sealed the deal this weekend, am I right?”
