“She’s so much smarter than I was at that age.”

“I’m sure you were just as bright. They don’t typically take stupid people into the FBI academy.”

“True.”

“Don’t sell yourself short. You managed to slide under the radar and infiltrate my club. You hacked my computer, which I’m still planning on punishing you for.”

“Punishing me?”

“I can’t let something like that go.” He flashes a wicked grin.

“How do you plan on doing that?” I’m dying to know what diabolical ideas he has flitting around in his dirty mind.

“I can’t tell you that.”

“Why not?”

“It’s classified.”

I burst out laughing. He has no idea how much his playful attitude soothes my soul. I don’t know if he even realizes what a great man he is. Someone as intelligent and kind as Matrix should realize his worth. But the scars on his arms tell a different story. I wish I knew more about why he did that to himself.

“One day, will you tell me about this?” I trace a finger over his scars.

“Go to sleep. We’ll figure out what to do with the girls in the morning.”

“I’m going to get it out of you eventually.” It’s a mystery I need to solve. I won’t give up until he explains why he hates himself enough to inflict that kind of pain on his body.

“Goodnight, babe.”

A moment later, he’s snoring softly. I’ve never heard him do that before, so he must be exhausted. I also try to sleep, but I can’t stop thinking about my sister. Until we find her, I’m not going to be able to relax enough to get any rest.

When morning comes, I’ve managed to get a few hours of sleep, but that’s it. Well, it will have to be enough because we’ve got work to do.

“Carbon stopped by a few minutes ago. Breakfast is in the kitchen, but what I really want to eat is right here.” Matrix rolls on top of me and kisses me.

“Stop that.” I giggle before trying to push him off.

“Come on, babe. How about a quickie before we go?”

“I doubt you’ll ever be a one-minute man.”

“Got that right.” His smile turns feral. “But, babe, Icouldbe a five-minute man if that’s all the time we have.”

I laugh because that’s not nearly enough time for us to enjoy each other. But after the tension of the last few days, I happily let him slide his wicked tongue down my body. By the time he’s done making me come, I’m famished. However, I won’t ask him to take a raincheck for his pleasure.

Licking and sucking and taking him deep into my mouth, I give him every reason never to get out of this bed. If it were up to us, we’d stay here forever, but other people are counting on us to help them. We can’t play all day.

After bringing him to a very satisfying climax, we get dressed. I’m almost ready to go when I realize where the kitchen’s located.

“What’s wrong?” he asks, easily reading my apprehension.

“Is that girl from last night going to be out there?”

“Maggie? No. Acid heard what she did. He sent her to Denver to do some shopping for the club. She won’t be back until we’re gone.”

“Were you two dating?”

“No. I slept with her once, but that was during a party a few years ago. It didn’t mean anything, and I haven’t seen her since. Don’t get jealous. I’m not interested in her.”
