“Damn right, I am.”

“Fuck yeah.”

“Hey, I heard you’ve been talking to Vapor from the NOLA chapter. How are they all doing?”

“Great. The guys that were injured during the cartel attack are all back on their feet. He invited me to visit.”

“Are you going?” I ask.

“Thinking about it. Did you ever investigate that last lead you had on the people who might be my biological parents?”

“I did, but it wasn’t them. I’m still looking.”

“Thanks.” He smiles, but his shoulders hunch inward.

“Don’t give up. We’ll find them.”

“If they’re still alive.”

“It’s possible you won’t like what we discover. Are you sure you want to keep looking?”

“I have to know if they’re out there. Even if I find out that they’re dead, at least I’ll know.”

“I’ve got feelers out to various people on the dark web. If anyone gives me anything concrete, you’ll be the first to know.”

“Thanks, brother.” Talon’s smile returns.“Let’s get you out there. I saw Daisy earlier. Smokin’ hot.”

“Hey, don’t even think about checking out my woman again.” I playfully punch his arm.

“Wouldn’t dream of it. She’s all yours.”

“You’ll find one of your own too.”

“Maybe.” He chuckles.“Until then, there’s pussy for days out there. I don’t know who the hell brought all those hot women, but I know I’m not going to be alone tonight.”

“Keep it in your pants until after the wedding’s over. Okay?”

“Whatever you want, bro.”

“I’m ready. Let’s do this.”

“Hell yeah!” Talon high-fives me.

When we get to the living room, we find Nitro pacing around while rocking Robert in his arms. As soon as he spots us, Robert starts screaming. The kid’s got a pair of lungs on him.

“Guys, I’m so sorry. Robert’s got colic again. I don’t think I’m going to be able to stand up for you.”

Tucker, the guy who has been prospecting for us for a year, stands up from the couch.“Want me to take him? I could watch him until the ceremony’s over.”

“It’s not going to be easy,” Nitro says.

“How hard can it be? Besides, I’ve got earplugs to drown out the crying. I’ll be fine.”

“The ceremony won’t take longer than maybe thirty minutes, max,” I say.“We wrote our own vows.”

“Sweet. I’ve got this,” Tucker says confidently.

“Okay, but if you need me, come get me.” Nitro hands the baby to Tucker. The minute the kid settles into his arms, he goes quiet.“What the fuck?”
