“That’s amazing. I’m not surprised. You’re so talented, babe.” I carry her a few steps until her back hits the wall. Being caught in this position in my workplace, probably not the smartest idea. Yet I can’t stop myself. “You have a talented eye to capture so much emotion in a photo.” I bring my lips to her neck. “And don’t get me started on your talented mouth and other body parts.”
There’s a soft thunk, and I smirk, knowing that it’s her head resting against the wall.
“We should definitely celebrate.” I kiss a path back to her mouth.
Even though I know I need to get back out there, I still allow myself to get lost in the kiss. Logan can handle things for a little while longer.
A loud throat clearing behind us causes me to pull back. “I’m pretty sure you’re paid to work, not get laid,” Archer grunts before disappearing into his office. The door shuts a little louder than usual.
“We’ll celebrate later,” I whisper before setting her back on her feet. Seems we’re having a lot of “to be continued” moments today. “Come on, let’s get you back to your table. Rhy will bring out your food shortly.” I sling my arm over her shoulder and escort her back to her table with my sister.
“You know, he’s not such a scary guy. I feel like deep down, he’s a big teddy bear. Maybe just a tough nut to crack.”
I bark out a laugh at her assessment of my brother. To be honest, she’s not all that wrong. He wasn’t always so grumpy, but then life hardens you.
“I’m totally telling him you said that.”
“Don’t you dare, Oliver.” She lifts a finger in my face, and I lean down and bite it gently. I smirk at her flushed cheeks and look of shock.
“It’s just that I feel that there’s a story there, that’s all.”
I just hum in response. More than she knows, really, but it’s not my story to tell.
I’ve just got Hollie settled back in her seat when Rhy appears, holding out a tray of food.
“Oh my God, you’re a food god,” Hollie moans around her fork while my sister does a happy dance in her chair.
Rhy is beaming ear to ear. No surprise at all. My best friend is talented as hell.
His elbow digs into my rib, and I let out an oof. “Did you hear that? I’m a god.”
He laughs when I roll my eyes at his statement. Yet when I lean down and open my mouth for Hollie to feed me a bite before I get back to work, it takes everything not to let a moan slip. It’s justthatgood.
“You can be a food god,” I say to Rhy before turning to lean down again and whisper in Hollie’s ear. “Sex god is better, anyway.”
Chapter 23
Hollie
Warm fingers brush along my cheek, stirring me from slumber. I blink a few times, while my vision clears, to find Ollie crouched down in front of me.
“Hey, sleepyhead.” He smiles.
I push up on the couch and realize I’m still in the office at Tilley’s.
“I’m sorry it took longer to close up. You didn’t have to wait around for me.”
I yawn. “No, it’s okay. I didn’t even realize I was that tired. Last thing I recall was hanging out in here with Payton and talking and laughing, and then next thing, well, you’re in here.”
I look around the room, looking for everyone.
“It’s just us,” he says, being able to read who I was looking for. “Archer took Pay home while I was closing up.” Ollie pushes upto his feet and holds out his hand, pulling me up. “Are you ready to go home?”
Home. That’s what his house has become lately. How is that even possible? It hasn’t even been that long. How can one place already feel like home when a house I lived in my entire life never did?
“Let’s go.”
Ollie helps me gather up my stuff before leading us back toward the front of the bar. He flicks the lights off in the main area, but the hall light and the lights behind the bar still leave enough light to see.
